Well next week we hit 5 months waiting for our NOA2, It is always sad when we see other applications receive the NOA2 that filed after our date and for the life of me I cant understand why that is. I guess the moral of the story is just wait and wait and don't even think of any such thing as a time line as it means nothing. Thank God for my trip there for Christmas :)

Just curious, for you guys approaching 5-6months of waiting for NOA2. Do you mind if i ask if you would consider your application a straightfoward/basic application? By basic i'm implying the following: that 1) this is your first time filing K-1 or similar petition, 2)no pervious marriages/divorces 3) No criminal or legal troubles 4) No kids included in petition 5) No RFEs.

I understand few of this are private information, but maybe just acknowledging to having any of the above will do. Wondering if it would help others understand if there is a bias to "basic" and "non-basic" petitions at the USCIS because it involves in-depth background check.

My fiance has 2 little girls, she never married, me divorced, neither of us have had any criminal challenges. I cant see how that would add a lot of time.

Ours definitely is :bonk: :bonk: :bonk:

1. We both are Filipinos(My fiance being a naturalized citizen of US)

2. Age gap 4 yrs.Me being 28(an RN here in Philippines and in US) and of course him being 32(secured job for 10 years now).

3. Both of us have NO criminal records.

4. We both are single. No previous marriages,no children either.

5. First time K1 filer.

6. No RFE's received so far either too.

And currently waiting for NOA2...Day 176th for us now.Approaching 6 months in 4 days...So I don't think that it matters how basic your case is...Because our case is pretty much simple but our NOA2 is nowhere to be found still :crying: :crying: :crying:

I'm at over 6 months since NOA1 and we have NOTHING unusual about our case. We met in person in October 2010, I have visited him in his country 3 times since then, we are only 3.5 years in age difference, neither has been married previously, we have no children, no criminal history, LOTS of email communication and text messages to document relationship. We have received no RFE or other communications from USCIS since the NOA1. I cannot tell if the application has even been touched, since my receipt number has never worked in the USCIS automated system. I really cannot imagine what the hold up is...

your right about all you can do is wait because the timeline means nothing and you have also got to remember that you will get approved before some people that filed before you.

your time will come soon... good luck

So I don't think that it matters how basic your case is

Our case took seven months, and was completely straightforward, it was 1)our first time filing 2)yes, we were each married and divorced once previously 3)with no criminal or legal issues 4) no kids 5) no RFEs. I waited until 6 months and called, was told to wait two more weeks, and was just about to get my local Congressman involved and that day we got approved. I am convinced our package sat on a shelf, collecting dust for 7 months. No touches...Then, when someone had a reason to look into it, probably spurred by my phone call, that is when it finally got looked at. Just my suspicion, of course, but odd, huh?

Best of luck!

I assume ours is a straightforward case... 1) first time filing; 2) no previous marriages/divorces; 3) no criminal history; 4) no kids; 5) no RFEs (yet!). So I don't know why it's taking so long... :(
