I'm currently living in Thailand on a non-immigrant O visa, which was issued on October 23rd (was on a 90-day tourist visa prior to that). My goal is to get my wife to the States, but since I will not be able to DCF until April 23rd, should I just go ahead and file via the Chicago lockbox? Or would it actually be faster to DCF when I'm eligible? How much faster is it to DCF vs filing via the Chicago lockbox?

Thanks. The problem is I won't be eligible to DCF until April 23rd (have to live here for 6 months before being eligible). I think what I'm going to do is spend now until then getting everything I can done (get my son's certificate of foreign birth and U.S. passport, complete all the needed paperwork, etc). Then, I'll DCF and hope to be able to get my family to the States by October 1st.

From what I understand the Chicago Lockbox is much faster than DCF. I filed DCF and got my approval in something like 66 days. I've seen others who have filed via Lockbox and got their approval in 33 days!
