Hi! Im new at this, so i dont know where to post this. If i post it in the wrong place, please forgive me. I want to marry my girlfriend, but she lived in VietNam. I just want to know what paper i need to file before i can go back there and marry her. I know that i need to file something to prove that I am single, but i dont know the name of that paper. Please help me...

The papers that you have to file are governed by the authorities in vietnam.

In our case, Indonesia required certificate of eligibility to marry issued by the US embassy there. Basically they swore me in, reviewed divorce decree from previous marriage, and issued the certificate.

i don't get it.

Well, you have your work cut out for you in VN. You will need to follow the cultural norms for weddings VERY closely. For example, you will need to have a grand damn or something like that for an engagement party and have it worked down to the very tables of all your guests and lists and things..... It's not a "fast food" process, so ask the guys here who went thru it already in hell, and who have their hot wife with them in bed in the US already. Good luck!
