I checked processing times on uscis site today and it said that it was updated until sept 30. the processing time moved from Feb 26 to 6 months! that's good news I guess!

It would be even better if they actually processed cases in 6 months instead of posting about it on their site. :P

I was waiting for the personal insults to start coming in about now. At least that's something that arrived according to my approximate time estimate.

dude/dudette. im just saying. it gets old. i'm not trying to insult you. you appear to have pretty thick skin, so i doubt there are hurt feelings involved.

what i am waiting for is your approval to come through. i will celebrate it as heartily as i will celebrate my own (my husband's actually, but im the vjer). and i will wave goodbye as you move off into the wilds of the naturalization forum.

Dudette I suppose would be the correct word (first time I ever got called that I think!). And I'm sorry my complaints about the immigration procedure "get old" to people in your situation, who have waited 5 months less than I have. It would be an interesting experiment to gauge your level of frustration if you're still waiting in April next year, which would be equivalent (and I truly hope you will not be). I guess what I'm trying to say is that painting happy rainbows and butterflies over the whole situation doesn't really do anyone any favors. The situation is what it is - and I'm pretty sure many people enjoy reading about both bad and good experiences, and also be aware (as I pointed out in this thread) that a change in processing time isn't necessarily reflected in reality.

I notice similar trends in other threads, where people openly criticize and get mad at anyone expresing negativity towards the USCIS and this whole procedure (e.g. Darkluck and some others in various monthly threads). It's almost as if some people believe that openly combatting negativity (sometimes agressively), putting their fingers in their ears and going LALALA will make their case move forward without a hitch. Maybe from that perspective, I come off as a harbinger of doom.

That being said, I appreciate your good luck wishes, and hope that you and your husband manage to get through this process as painlessly as possible (with your positive outlook intact!)

let the record show that i am not a fan of either butterflies or rainbows!

I like to read about both good and bad experiences. Bad experiences provide information that could be useful to those in a similar situation. People who had 'complained' about waiting 3 months for their biometrics appointment let me to know that this was unusual but can happen, especially at certain local offices. You have given me insight into what happens when a case is still pending after 9 months and information about contacting my local representative/senator. I don't know if I will have to wait 9 months but I want to be prepared and know what to do if I get into that situation.

Check the national average, I just did this morning and it says 16.7 months.

What happens after the Conditional GC expires and you are waiting on application? Can you travel, stay legal, etc?

you asked this in the may filers thread. best to only ask once and wait somewhat patiently for an answer.
