We don't have our NOA2 yet, but we're trying to prepare the documents for the interview or at least the ones that are not time-sensitive. Some background info - my fiance was a university student for the last three years, he started a job 3 months ago but he's making just a little below the required amount for the i-134, so we won't risk it and we'll use a co-sponsor.

However,I know we need to provide financial info for both him and the co-sponsor, and having that he hasn't filed tax returns for previous years (he did work for a short time while in uni, but didn't make a lot so he wasn't required to file) we need to provide a letter explaining his situation. We plan on writing a short explanation and having it notarized and we plan to cover:

- that he was a university student;

-that he didn't make enough to qualify for filing a tax return, so he didn't, as per IRS rules;

Do you think that's enough? Am I missing something? Any ideas on how we should word it?

If anybody can give me some insight into this I'll highly appreciate it. Thank you. :)

Does the fact that nobody's answering mean that I'm including everything that needs to be included in the letter? :shocked:
