Evidentally, yet none were in states that allow ANYONE to have a concealed handgun. How curious. It actually suggests randomness. Who would have guessed?

See Gary, you and I can buy our guns off a street corner, tuck them inside our coat pocket and walk down that street legally like men. But in the Peoples Republic of California only Swiss Knives with blades no longer than 4" are allowed.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

Spin it any way you want, it still shows the NRA is spreading falsehoods. Even 1 unnecessary and unlawful killing would enough to prove the gun lobby, like the tobacco lobby, is full of liars.

That is math, not spin. You are advocating eliminating something less dangerous than mini-blinds and 5 gallon paint buckets. It should be noted in your figures.

Again, as I said. Concealed carry is not a right so all you have to do is convince the legislatures to reverse their concealed carry laws. You are smarter and better informed than all the legislatures combined so should be no step for a stepper.

I like that photo you posted above! Who would have thought she was carrying a handgun?

I picked three from states that require permits. However, here is one you should recognize from the three states the don't require permits, and allow virtually anyone through negligence, including the mentally deranged, to have a concealed handgun:

Legal Concealed Handgun Carrier: Jared Lee Loughner

INCOMPETENT TO STAND TRIAL

Date: January 8, 2011

People Killed: 6

Circumstances: On January 8, 2011, Jared Lee Loughner, 22, armed with a Glock 19

pistol outfitted with a 33-round ammunition magazine opened fire at a “Congress on

Your Corner” constituent event held by Arizona U.S. Representative Gabrielle Giffords

outside a Tucson Safeway supermarket. Loughner killed six people, including a federal

judge and a nine-year-old girl, and injured 13, including Giffords, who was shot once in

the face. In 2010, Arizona become only the third state that does not require a permit of

any type to carry a concealed handgun outside of the home. As a result, Loughner was

able to legally carry his pistol to the Giffords event in his assassination attempt. When

Loughner stopped to eject his emptied magazine and insert a full one, he was tackled and

disarmed by two men and a woman at the event. The event almost took an even more

tragic turn when Joe Zamudio, another concealed weapons holder, came on the scene and

almost shot one of the men who had disarmed Loughner in a case of mistaken identity.

Zamudio described on Fox & Friends how he had come out of a Walgreens and ran to the

shooting site with his handgun’s safety off, his hand on the gun ready to draw. As he

rounded the corner, Zamudio saw one of the men who had disarmed Loughner holding

the Glock pistol, stating, “And that’s who I at first thought was the shooter. I told him to

‘Drop it, drop it!’” In response to the interviewer’s observation that, “Had you shot that

guy, it would have been a big, fat mess,” Zamudio responded, “I was very lucky.

Honestly, it was a matter of seconds. Two, maybe three seconds between when I came

through the doorway and when I was laying on top of [the real shooter], holding him

down. So, I mean, in that short amount of time I made a lot of really big decisions really

fast....I was really lucky.” Zamudio added in a later interview, “I could have easily done

the wrong thing and hurt a lot of people.”

In an “initial indictment” Loughner was charged with three counts of attempted murder

and held without bail. He pleaded not guilty. Additional state and federal murder

charges are expected.

UPDATE: On May 25, 2011, a federal judge ruled that Jared Lee Loughner was

incompetent to stand trial. Judge Larry A. Burns ordered Loughner to be sent back to a

federal medical center where he would be held for treatment and further evaluation.

Burns scheduled a hearing for September 21, 2011, to determine if Loughner’s condition

had improved enough for him to assist in his own defense.

Let me make this easy for you...

Give me the name of the state that had an INCREASE in homicides after passing concealed carry legislation, there are 49 states you ought to be able to find ONE.

This is nonsense. Print more if you wish I will no longer respond to it, just as the legslatures of 49 states do not respond to it.

Unless there was an INCREASE in homicides after implementation of concealed carry, we are ahead of the game and any numbers you present are moot points. All they prove is that concealed carry does not prevent ALL crime.

If I made ever made that claim then your statements would be relevent.

In Alaska the thieves know there's a good chance of catching a bullet when they try to rob someone. Chances are the Alaskan is packing.

Because stupid people with concealed weapons endangers the rest of us. The current tally from May 2007 to the October 2011 of confirmed unlawful killings involving persons with concealed carry permits or who committed an unlawful killing in public with a legal handgun in a state that allows concealed carry without a permit (Alaska, Arizona, and Vermont allow the carrying of concealed handguns without a permit) is 385.

You ignore totally the lawless thugs that have zero use for a permit and kill in far greater numbers than a few concealed carry holders. Yet you have a ####### for concealed carry permits. Your focus is misguided, you're more likely to have an encounter with a thug unlawfully carrying a concealed weapon than a concealed carry permit holder minding his/her business.

Stupid people also drive cars, and stupid people driving those cars endanger the rest of us. What is your remedy for stupid people that drive cars? Would you suggest no one have a license to drive because of a stupid few overall drivers cause more death and mayhem and we all take the safe government transportation? I think not, because you personally get some enjoyment and benefit from the privelege of driving, so no way would you want that monkeyed around with.

But concealed carry, well, you have no use for it, therefore, no one else should be allowed to conceal carry.

Well some of us get some enjoyment and have benefitted from being armed in a concealed manner.

So if your thinking is that no one be allowed to have a concealed permit, ok I'll agree with you. Because I don't believe in getting permission from government to enjoy a right, (the only right of the Bill of Rights where a citizen must seek permission to exercise the right to bear concealed) so I'm all for No concealed carry permits. Then anyone that wanted to carry concealed should be able to do so, as long as they aren't in a restricted class...ig, mental patients.

Funny, Alaska made #14 on the list of state crime rankings in 2010, #50 being the state with the lowest crime ranking. It appears gun ownership and all the ra-ra sis-boom-bah in this thread regarding gun ownership leads to less crime remains BS.

Vermont consistently ranks low crime rates, but as the above illustrates, concealed carry in that state is disproved by the above Alaska factoid, in short CC in Vermont is not the causal factor.

I am sure the reality challenged will take issue with this post, but what some folks wish was true is not born out by reality. So sorry to all the John Wayne wanna-be's in this thread.

Let me clue you in so you have a clue. You can thank the Alaskan Natives for Alaska ranking #14. Alaska made #1 in rape, and #3 in assault on the list. Dads screwing daughters, brothers screwing sisters, and uncles screwing nieces is prevalent in village life for Alaskan Natives. Every time one of them gets busted for doing his daughter, niece, sisters, etc... it's recorded as a rape and assault...it's a twofer.

Now seeing how I was born and raised in Washington State ...you know..the place you live now, I know only too well what the odds of getting robbed and gang banged in Tacoma, Seattle and all parts in between. btw I bet you voted for Gregoire...I hope that works out well for ya.

And where was Alaska's crime rate before CC? Has it gone up or down? I know the answer, do you?

So if guns are not the cause of crime...

1. Why would we legislate against guns

2. what IS the cause?

3. If your post is true, why have NONE of the 49 states repealed CC? Are the legislatures of 49 states all controlled by John Wayne Wanna-bes?

CC has reduced the crime rate in every jusidiction where it has been implemented. Whatever other factors affect the crime in those areas still exist. Reduced crime is a GOOD thing. Did anyone expect CC to eliminate crime compeletely?

Did anyone expect that ALL states would have the same crime rate after implementing concealed carry? Did anyone expect there would no longer be a number 1 or a number 50? Seriously? Presenting these figures is nothing more than a ruse to cover the fact you have nothing to support the argument

Why hasn't Nevada repealed CC? Why has Alaska made it easier to carry concealed?

I have already spelled out the code for success for those who wish to eliminate concealed carry, very simple.

Show me the state that has had an INCREASE in the crime rate associated with guns after implementing CC. Not just what its ranking is (who cares?) but has shown an increase in the rate per 100,000

Gary, it simply does not exist. But the gun grabbers don't care about facts.
