i still prefer the .44 mag s&w 629

i'll spread the word you're in the 1% :hehe:

I had the Kodiak 6 3/4" version of that gun. It was a limited edition and it didn't have the fluted cylinder...which meant you could pack extra heavy loads. Best gun I ever owned...my dad has it now. It has a barrel weight and kicks like a .22 it's so smooth. The 500 I have now is a ####### envy gun. It's the biggest and baddest hand gun out there atm, and I wanted to out do my brother...show and tell.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

If you or your lovely wife were being assaulted by a couple of punks with knives, would it be better to armed or unarmed at that very moment?

How would you defend and protect your safety and that of your wife?

A good pair of running shoes would come in handier.

I have had a Washington concealed weapons permit for 3 years.

I never carry it in town, only when I go for a walk along the irrigation canal bank or in the parks, and it is for protection against pit bulls and other dogs that are allowed in the US but not in more careful countries and mountain lions and bears. It is a 38 special +p with hollow points and yes it will kill a bear if you put it in its eye socket and pull the trigger

The guy who pulled a gun at the giffords shooting (not the assailant) was almost killed himself, because when it gets frantic, nobody knows who the assailant is. If someone pulled a gun at the mall, there is no way I would be running around waving my Ruger for every $4 an hour security guard to shoot me by mistake.

I don't go walking in the bad areas at midnight so the chances of needing a gun to face an assailant is too small to worry about. My AR-15 with a 30 round mag is handy at home in case my wife or her cats get stroppy (that's a joke by the way)

If I want a weekend in Boston, I don't want to put it on the plane with me.

This concealed weapon business is a big male fantasy joke in the USA just like the militias and Harley Davidsons and Texan hats.

WE do have bears and rattlesnakes and cougars and rabid coyotes here and tattooed imbeciles with 3 slavering pit bulls on a rope, and so it makes sense to have a final backstop against those - but shooting it off in the cinema car park when a homeless person beggar gets pushy is not my approach

I did go to Idaho a couple of weeks ago and suddenly realized the Ruger was in the trunk and I was committing a felony. I only got to Coeur D'Alene and turned round after an hour and came back. This new proposed law would have been useful but given how the Repubs have behaved, I say block EVERYTHING they propose

the one i have has a 4.5" barrel - just the right size for carry on the hip.

got that gun for a steal - new at $450 in the early 90's, between the time i ordered it to the time i picked it up, the prices went up so the dealer actually lost money on the sale.

I spent many days on the range while in the Marine Corps, women tend to be pretty good shots and smooth on the trigger when trained.

I had good luck with those too. If you don't want to hit things on the other side of a door, or tempered glass, they are a good way to go.

it's the only foreign made gun i have
