In this particular case, England does matter in way as the Heller decision specifically references the English Bill of Right 1689 when they determined that the 2nd amendment goes beyond just the right to establish militias.

As an aside and a time out. I sometimes get really worried after a while on VJ and I think I am in Berlin in 1933 or in Iran under the Shah's regime being lectured by a ####### Cheney death squad.
