getting personal without an attack is not. Also he has been rather direct towards your horrible posts so I think the baiting here is a non issue.

People use personal attacks when they are mentally bankrupt and having nothing really to add, the get desparate and flail about. I encourage any of my opponents to do so. Please.

Concealed carry reciprocity, already the law in 38 states will be the law of the land, maybe this year, maybe next year, maybe the year after. Illinois will eventually have it also. Mayor Daley can only tell the people for so long that "Only YOU cannot handle this responsibility"

The silly comparisons that show we are in more danger to have a gun simply fade when it is realized that 49 states have done this and they ALL had a reduction in crime. You may as well argue the earth is flat. This is nit a guess, it is not supposition, it is not convoluted data, it is FACT.

The Firearm Owners Protection Act was introduced in no less than 3 congresses over 7 years before finally passing in 1986 and essentially repealing the GCA of 1968. The NRA will not go away.

After making sure that the AWB of 1994 was sufficiently amended to essentially "ban nothing" with a 10 year sunset clause in place, a grandfather clause and the elimination of the waiting period on handguns, the NRA gave the nod to allow it to pass. Some people differed and a new competing organization (GOA) was formed out of that, but the NRA was right.

The new law resulted in the prompt dismissal of the people that had enacted it, insured it would never happen again and never really had any impact on what we could own, unless you were just really hung up on owning a NEW bayonet lug. The anti-gun people actually cheered the passage of that law. But they do not know anything about guns anyway so how would they know they were snookered?

Our rights as gun owners have been expanded greatly, or I should say, restored greatly in the last 25 years.

Some of the anti-gun people are now realizing they were just stupid all along. Stupid people, having been stupid for a long time, are usually pretty sensitive to that sh*t but when they get "had" they start throwing fits...and personal insults everywhere.

It is how I know that I have won!

I post on a controversial forum called politics and religion and I stick within the rules - how about you ?

Also would you mind not forging my quotes - that is against TOS too

You really don't care about breaking all the TOS rules do you ?

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

The politics and religion forum is for people to rant on their political and religious ideas - so your idea that they should be beaten down and told to shut up by using a string of obscenities is a somewhat unsophisticated.

You have told me what you think of me personally using your vocabulary - can you start to imagine what I think of you ? Double it. Double it again. Now times ten.

The difference is I respect the forum rules and you don't. Now pack it in and either post something clean or do your usual somewhere else

On the main topic, I'd rather the country as a whole either allow CCW or not, the patchwork is frustrating and this law will make even more frustrating.

I vote not. You can still own all the weapons you want, you just can't have them with you everywhere you go.

I don't trust other people to safely handle firearms in public. So I agree.

But if we are going to be living like that as a society, then I feel I don't have much choice but to carry myself.

Mind you, using Gary's reference, I don't trust other drivers either...so there you go.
