Hi everyone! I am feeling in need of support. How are you coping with the waiting? I really miss my fiance!!! This whole waiting is killing me!

I saw that Vermont office is back on 5 months processing time- does that mean it won't take longer than 5 months for the NOA2?

I started exercising each day, helps me release stress...but still there are days like today when I feel like screaming! :(

I feel like no one from my family can understand me well, that's why I am writing here. After all we are all going through the same thing.

By the way I wanted to ask if someone had to obtain a police certificate from the US. Does it take long to get it?

I pray for all of us waiting that we will all get approved soon and fly as soon as we can to be with our loved ones!!!!!!!

US is your destination so they will check it for you. No need.

I studied Multimedia to kill time. Waiting is going to drive you nuts to try to get busy and not over think.

Happy New Year!

You are in right path. Exercising, doing some activities, and keep communicating with your fiance. I do not know, whether I am really stress or not. Sometimes I do, but most times I can handle it very well. I keep talk to my fiance by Skype everyday by video calls, calling him at work, discuss our papers, talking about wedding, many things.

I honestly felt wanted to be with him as soon as fast, but we are both have a lot experience living away from family so we can be happy to wait time for together forever. I have no best idea to help reduce your stress. I do yoga, martial arts, writing blog, work, meditation, that can occupied my mind. Just find what your interest and doing it with freely spirit. Good luck!

Thanks for the support! I really needed this! It sucks for all of that we have to wait soo long! This whole process should be reduced to way less! If only I had the power to change things....

I guess by the time we end this waiting we would end up with so many new skills! :)))

So no need to obtain on my own? Thanks for the info though.

Yes, trying all kinds of different activities is the key to not go nuts.

I like multimedia too, I was gonna start soon with some courses too! Cool!

I know exactly how you feel...just try to stay busy. It helps if you and your fiance have a joint project to work on (besides the visa lol), Ben and I are both very artistic and creative and so we are going to work on making a music video together, as well as a joint writing project and graphic novel. Stuff like that will help the distance seem not so far, the time not so long and you will have something precious and wonderful you can look back on for years to come (and show to kids one day :) )

Yes, sadly enough, it means 5 months (HOPEFULLY) + NVC time + consulate/embassy time

NVC takes 3-4 weeks to receive and then ship to your consulate/embassy

Then add in the NVC to embassy time for yours from here:

Thanks! That sounds like a very cool idea to work on a joint project.I will definitely look into that. I saw your timeline...we filled in October too.

I try to stay as much busy I can- I have exams, projects, working out and stuff...but still in those few moments I get to sit down and relax...the NOA2 is all

I can think about!

I just feel better having support from all of you. Thanks!

I guess this will teach me some patience.Sometimes it feels like its a quest or something. I really think they should reduce the time to 3 moths tops, all included. :).

You're doin' the right thing, girl! Exercise releases happy endorphins. Use the time that you have to look more beautiful in preparation for your big move, and of course for your fiance. I've been doin' the same thing. I also hangout a lot with my friends to keep my mind off of waiting. Waiting sucks but when you're busy, time flies.

I made videos too while waiting for the process to end. One of them is this http://vimeo.com/25147501 lol. It was fun. Try making something every month, something that will occupy most of your time. When you feel lonely, write him/her something and pour everything out. Start blogging, LDR stories are interesting. Exercising is helpful to release endorphins aka happy hormones!

Yes, working out helps me a lot! I got myself hooked on insanity and it feels great. How funny is it huh? I work out Insanity program to help me not go insane! LOL

Also as you said, the idea of looking good for my fiance is keeping me motivated too.We both made a pack to work out. So far soo good.

Sounds like you are coping well with the waiting. It is refreshing to have strong people helping you out. Thanks! :)

Yeah blogging is a good idea too! A joint blog where you can both update it so you can look forward to what they write and share whats going on with you. Ben and I are also making a website thats a joint 'our story' and wedding website, there are a lot of free places to make a website and it can maybe be part of the proof of a continuing relationship (BONUS!) Ours is on Yola.com but there are others too, we have our visa timeline on there too ;D Even with it all you'll prob still break down sometimes (I do x.x) but at least it can help you stay positive :)

Get a (2nd) job so that your time will be busy and you will have extra money to enjoy together.

Learn something new or really dive into the language of your beloved. I'm studying a second language right now with LearnWithTexts for vocabulary input

Learning With Texts

It's free and on the web and took me all of about 30 minutes to figure out. This is just one example of something you can do.

I also sewed gifts for him and his parents. They are handkerchief users, so I bought the fabric and then after edging them, I embroidered personalized things, poetry, goofy symbols, names, etc. That alone killed about 3 weeks of the time.

Start a blog about your immigration experience. Read through the gobs of forum posts here. Talk to other immigrants.

Make something romantic. I made a silver ring over the last 4 months. http://emilylikestomakestuffdiy.blogspot.com/2011/10/silver-ring-from-quarter.html

My beloved wears this always now.

The video suggestion is great. I like to do that, too. It takes a lot of time to edit and organize and a short 3 or 4 minute video can kill an entire afternoon easily.

Indulge in all the books/movies/games that you enjoy.

If you can text each other, do that like crazy. Talk about your beloved with every poor, unsuspecting soul that crosses your path.

Clean a lot.

Hang in there.
