on nov. 18 2011 I will call in SLEC to know my result in sputum culture, Im so nervous and I keep on praying that my result will be negative. help me GOD.. My mom, dad, and brother already had their visa's and hopefully i will get a good news on my long wait. (

woooow...am so nervous too..i just went for my medicals and they said ill have to do sputum test for tuberculosis...right now am so worried..

but is it an inelegibility?...will i be able to have my visa interview without my medicals at the embassy?

ow, a sad news, that's what I felt too when they said that I had to do sputum test in Tb, they will schedule you for 3 consecutive days for sputum collection and for the 4Th day is your evaluation, in eval. they will tell you if you're negative or positive in you sputum SMEAR, then if your negative, you STILL have to wait for 2months for the result of your SPUTUM CULTURE. and if you're NEGATIVE you will have your IMMUNIZATION and reschedule your interview.

- NO. you need to passed the medical before you have your interview. because you will be needed your medical record as your document in embassy.

Hello!!! You will be fine I had my sputum test last September 19,20 and 21..I called them today for the result of my Culture and thank God it is Negative. At first it's sad but just pray and leave it up to him and you will be fine!

Hello!!! You will be fine I had my sputum test last September 19,20 and 21..I called them today for the result of my Culture and thank God it is Negative. At first it's sad but just pray and leave it up to him and you will be fine!

happy to hear your good news, so is it true that if you don't receive a news or phone call from them(SLEC) the result is NEGATIVE? because I'm so very nervous right now. I hope the time will be fast so that I will know the result now. :| and hopefully like you my result is negative

I'd like to share my experienced it might help you all. I'm from the Philippines. I've been here in the US since 2004 and a US Naturalized since 2009.

I was a fiancee visa and during my medical exam I had a problem due to my x-ray showed something suspicious. I had to have a 3 sputum test that I hated so much. I was like feeling terrible and scared at that moment. And thank God it was negative. The Doctor said it was negative but the x-ray was showing cloudy and I had some symptoms also so I just went ahead and started taking the medications. And my interview was scheduled after 2 weeks of my medical exam. Although I was still on the process of my treatment, I had my interviewed in two weeks. They did not tell me that I couldn't come over here or anything. They were kinda happy because I was in treatment and so I've waited and waited until the SLEC decided that I was good and surprisingly US Embassy called me that was almost 1 1/2 months of my treatment and asking "when can I leave?" and I was so happy and I said anytime. So the officer told me to pick up my visa. My visa had 1 week due after I received it but that was like I won a lottery. I did not care! lol..that was Thank God! The reason why they asked me when can I leave was because if I could not be able I had to have the sputum test again. I went home to my city for a week and had my two weeks treatment with me until I arrived in the US. When you arrived in the US, you need to go to your Department of Health and they'll give your treatment at home daily. I took my treatment sept-july. So if it's negative and they want you to take the treatment do it ASAP because time is fast and you won't tell it's already there. And they'll give you the visa.

thank you for sharing your experience I just have call SLEC a while ago and the girl said that my sputum culture was negative I will go there on nov. 22 tues. with my passport and receiptand for my immunization, so happy LORD help me and answer my prayers.

yes they are . like my dad, he's a smoker and he drinks alcohol but he passed in his medical. while me, with no vices who did not pass and back for my sputum culture. but still im negative after 2 mons. of waiting.

sept.8- 1st day of medical

sept.9- 2nd day of medical and knew for the bad news "BACK FOR LABORATORY"

sept.21-1st day of sputum collection

sept.22-2nd " " " "

sept.23-3rd " " " "

sept.26- pulmonary evaluation "GOOD NEWS NEGATIVE SMEAR"

(wait for 2 mons. for sputum culture)

nov.18- call SLEC for result "GOOD NEWS: NEG. SPUTUM CULTURE"

nov.22- went to SLEC for immunization

a. arrived @ SLEC

b. wait for my name to call in 2nd flr.

c. instructed to go in rm. N ground flr. look for CLARK

d. give my receipt in cashier a

e. wait for my name to call in 2nd flr. (after 1hr.)

f. talk to the doc. in Doc. area 2nd flr. and advise to repeat my preg. test

g. went to 5th flr. to pay the test(but the cashier is close resume at 11:30)

h. went to 4th flr. for the test

I. have a quick lunch

j. return back to cashier and 4th flr. to get the result of the preg. test its neg.

k. return to 2nd flr. doc. area to give the result

L. wait for my name to call(after 1hr) AT LAST MY IMMUNIZATION

M. last in ground for releasing of papers.( wait again for 45 mins)

TOTAL TIME CONSUMED= 8hrs.(7am to 3pm)

nov.23- went to US EMBASSY to have my interview even though I dont have appointment schedule

( since in my case Im still the one who dont have a visa and the one they waiting )

a. arrived @ US EMBASSY

b. fall in line and the girl verify my appointment (after waiting 5mins.) she give me my appointment (written in blank bond paper)

c. got my ticket/number

d. drop my appointment letter in window 39

e. wait for my no. to appear. (after 15 mins) my no. appeared

f. went to window 42 and ask for my 2x2 pic. (i dont have it, so i went out side to take a pic.)

g. drop my 2pcs. of 2x2 pic in window 38

h. wait again for my no. to wait

i. after 30 mins. my no. appeared and went to windw 41 for finger printing

j. wait again for almost 1 hr. then my no. appeared

k. went to window. 57 for pre interview

l. wait again for 2 hrs. ( take a quick lunch and resume at 1:00pm)

m. 1:30 my no. appeared and went in window 63 for my final interview

n. 2:00 my no. appeared and went to window 71 for my finl instruction

o. went in last window 69 for the shipping sheet of 2go for the VISA DELIVERY

TOTAL TIME CONSUMED= 6:30am to 2:30

yey!!! and now im waiting for my VISA!!!!

had to undergo sputum colletion last october2011 and waited for 2mos and now i called dec28 for my result but was advised they have to do some redigestion on my sputum and was told that i have to called back on jan 6 for the result now im wondering if theres a possibility that the rsult is positive thats why its taking go long..another week of waiting and im so frustated

I would just like to ask.. after releasing your result by the slec, you said you went to USEm the next day.. without any appoinment with them?.. how was that?.. did they entertain you without your appoinment with them? You were just bringing your appoinment letter.. isn't if you'll have your sputum test your sched at the USEm will be changed?.. that was what happened to me.. slec told me not to go to USEm and after 2 months that is the time that i'll ask for another appointment.. i just wana know how did you do it going to USEm without another appoinment sched with them so i will have the idea.. my sputum culture result will be release on the 30th of Aug2017..
