hey guys, thanks for these forums. they are so helpful.

I got my biometrics yesterday. I got at the ASC at 11.55 and I left it at 12.10. It was so quick and smooth. My questions are:

1- After people send their applications, they normally receive a receipt that has a number that they use to check their statuses online. I didn't receive that I received the biometrics appointment only. Did that happen to anybody of you guys?

2- the other question is what happens after the biometrics?

Thanks

How soon you had your biometrics appointm?

I actually received my biometrics appointment letter first and like a week after I received the NOA in the mail. It should be coming soon.

When did you file? Your receipt/NOA1 can take up to a month. Obviously it's been received or you would not have gotten biometrics, but I would contact USCIS if a month passes since you filed and you don't get a notice. Normally the NOA1 will arrive before the biometrics letter, but not always.

In terms of what happens next - now you wait. If you filed for an EAD, that will generally be approved within 2-3 months of filing. Sometimes, if your case is moving quickly (as your appears to be), you may not receive your EAD before your green card. Within the next couple of months you will receive a letter for an interview which will be scheduled for about a month after that letter is received. You'll have your interview, and hopefully be approved. :)
