On 11/11/11, I made the biggest wish of my life, and it came true! My boyfriend, Tom, proposed to me! Here's how it happened:

Tom picked me up from work promptly at 5pm (Apparently he was so nervous that he got there like, a half hour early, and was roaming the streets for half an hour) ... of course, as soon as 4pm hit, and I saw him go offline on G-Talk while I was working, I got SUPER nervous, and had crazy butterflies in my tummy. I knew for a week that he had been planning something (he asked me to wear very specific things... warm clothes, comfortable shoes, and something pretty!) so I was pretty excited.

He showed up at my office, dressed in a shirt & tie, and trench coat & scarf... and he drove us home, except, he past our street, so I asked, "where are we going?!" (Knowing full well that he was taking me somewhere, I just didn't know exactly where)... and he pulled into this park by the lake, near our apartment.

He parked, and had me put my purse in the trunk, except I was allowed to bring my phone, and he led me through the dark path to this remote little area that I had never even been to before. Took about 10 minutes to get there, and when we did, there was a bench, with a bon fire set up in front, and rocks beside the lake, overlooking the entire city.

He brought me up to the rocks and asked if I knew why he brought me out there, and I said "yes, I think I have a feeling" with a big grin on my face. And he got down on one knee and asked "Will you marry me?" and I said "Yes!" and he said "What?" and I said "Yes!" and he said "Louder!!" and I practically shouted "YES!"

... And at that point, "Marry You" by Bruno Mars started playing, and fireworks lit up the sky! :) I turned around and saw my good friends Miro & Kruno hiding in the rocks/bushes, setting off fireworks and taking pictures! LOL. It was so freaking cute, he did such a good job :)

I, of course, am obsessed with photography, so I stopped in the middle of it all to take photos of the fireworks!

Then he popped some champagne and we all celebrated together, and I started calling my family & friends to let them know. My friend Christina, as soon as I got off the phone with her, immediately posted it on facebook, and tagged both of our names, so I had to make like, a million phone calls that night to all my closest friends & family members, so that they didn't find out via facebook.

Then we (all four of us) went out for Thai food & we all went our separate ways to shower (we all smelled like smoke from the bonfire) ... so that's when I officially changed my status on Facebook, and my wall like, exploded within the first 10 minutes! LOL. So much love :D

Finally, we got out of the house and went over to the bar... Just before we left, my friend Miro had the guy who was singing dedicate a song to us, and the entire bar cheered (and those sitting closest to us congratulated us), and the guy started singing With or Without You... so Miro got up there and sang with him.

And that was my night!

(There are pictures included with this story over at my blog, right here: http://singlesandpairs.blogspot.com/2011/11/officially-in-pairs-club-for-life-aka.html)

Now we have to figure out this whole paperwork thing... we're really hoping for an October wedding, and we're going to file the paperwork when we go down to FL for Christmas (that's where he's from, and where we met...) Any advice? :)
