Does anyone know if we can file the I-765 work authorization form before we file the I-485?

we just got married yesterday and working on the I-485 forms, but they take a little while to fill out and get the required documents. My husband has a job waiting for him here in the USA, but he needs his work visa before he can legally work.

Can we file the I-765 form first, then send in the I-485 in a few weeks?

Please advise, thank you!

Moving to AOS from family based visa.

If you send the I-765 before you send the I-485 you WILL have to pay the $$$ for the I-765 and it will only be good until his I-94 expires.

You could, but as said above you would have to pay for it. It would take around 2 months to arrive and because it expires when the I-94 does you'd have it for a very small window. Total waste of the money. Once the card expires he would have to quit his job until he gets the EAD from the AOS which would take another 2 months from applying.
