Delay in citizenship processing

I have sent N400 application in July (7/28/2011). I received NOA in agust 1 st week. I did not recieve my finger print appointment yet. I called the customer service and placed the service request regarding the ongoing issue and they said the request will be answered after 30 days( which is ridiculous). Anyway I received automated response after 30 days and uscis entered the fingerprint request in their system. It also says I will recieve the appointment letter within30-60 days of this notice. I am still waiting for the finger print letter...But I received the initial review completion letter( yellow letter)in October. Anybody know about the same delay like mine? I also made an info pass and they could not help like I thought. IO told me each case is different and the processing can take up to 1 year which is making me little nervous. I have vacation plan in January and I don't that I will be able to travel with this pending case. Can anyone help me about this issue?

yes, each case is different. but since you already received the initial review notice looks like you're back on track. good luck =)

You case could simply skip the fingerprinting and just go to interviewing. Different people get different cases but as @Zen Den said, you seem to be on track.
