I-864 for K1 Interview?

10 days until my fiance's interview and we were going over documents needed. I went back to check off Packet 3 and notice it listed the I-864 under the I-134. I just signed and fed-exed to her an original signed I-134 at considerable expense. Does this mean I need to send her the I-864 as well?

Anyone who has actually had an interview know if this is true or not?

Montreal does not use the I-864 for K-1 interviews.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

Inky's right I asked the same thing. They took my fiance's 134 and 2010 tax return and that was it.

You can check with the Embassy in which you are filing. In all of the reading on USimmigration site/visajourney it has been mentioned that each Embassy may not require the same documents. You can also check the United States Embassy's webpage of the country of interest regarding K-1 visas. Hope that helps :) Hoping you success :)

Some embassies will use I-864 instead of I-134. Check with your embassy.

Montreal does not make contact with people via email or phone. You would be lucky to get an email back from them in 5 days or longer. The USEM Montreal website also is not too clear as to the requirements. The OPs question has already been answered by people who already dealt with the issue.

Make sure you check the top of the page it tells you where this was posted, because this was posted in the Canada section. When people post in region specific forums its to get specific answers from thos who already did this process at the exact place in the same country.

No, the 864 is NOT necessary for the K1. It's on the checklist because the checklist is for CR1/IR1s as well as K1s. There is NO need to bring it, just the I-134. Most K1s here only bring the I-134s and its supporting evidence and it's fine.

You fill out the 864 when you adjust your status after you've entered the USA and married.
