Hi, I filed an I129F petition for my fiance who is a resident and citizen of the United Kingdom. I received my NAO2, which is valid until December 11, 2011. My fiance is still assembling the documentation required for the interview and he will not be able to schedule his interview at the U.S. embassy in London until January of 2012. Do I need to mail a Request to Extend Approval of I-129f to the U.S. embassy in London before December 11? If so, is there a sample Request that someone can post?

Thanks much!

You do understand that the four DS-xxxx application forms should be sent in asap whether he has his interview documents or not. That lets London know you haven't abandoned the case. That keeps him active and they automatically extend the petition validity.

Then when he has his interview documents in hand, he sends in the DS-2001 as a way to say "I'm ready." They don't have to all go in together. When he sends the DS-2001, he can include in his cover letter (along with the information they say to include) a statment like--

Please can you schedule my interview after January 5, 2012 because I will be out of the country for Christmas and New Year. Or whatever reason he has...I can't get off work...I will be preparing for exams...I am having surgery....

In your case, best to include a new letter of intent since your NOA2 was in August. They may want to know his slowness isn't because you changed your mind.
