I watched part of it. Nothing all that dramatic.

We learned that Herman Cain favors waterboarding as an interrogation technique. So does Bachmann.

Also that Perry and Gingrich would turn off all foreign aid to "zero dollars" and let Pakistan and other recipients apply for aid and justify why they should receive it. On the flip side, Bachmann and Romney (? I think it was Romney, I was only half-watching) were against that, and insisted on the vital US interest of funding Pakistan for fear of it destabilizing and giving al Qaida a terrorist state with its own nuclear arsenal.

I thought it was a surprisingly substantive discussion. At least the parts that I half-watched.
