child support proof in interview?

I am the USC. My husband is from New Zealand. He has children that live there, all minors, and they do not wish to leave their mother.

At my husband's interview, do we need to bring anything dealing with the children? We have their birth certificates, and their current address, but they really do not have much to do with us (their choice). My husband hasn't been back to NZ in 4 years, and we've received all of his background checks and things, but I started wondering this morning if the children would come up in the interview? Will it look strange that they have no desire to leave their own country?

Thanks, any help would be appreciated.

I don't know much about CR1 but seems no different than a Finace/Financee Petition when it comes to Children

Yes. Its a No Brainer the Children will come up and Supporting Documents tied to them.

If his Child Support Payments are currant then I don't see a problem but, I never been through that situation. Have Birth Certs for the children and a dissolution of the Marridge.

We've got the birth certificates and the dissolution of marriage. I know that NZ child support is different than America, you pay the government your child support and they send the mother (or father) checks. I guess everything is alright, I mean he's got a clear background check. I'm not sure what to bring as far as documenting child support, or if they'd even need that, the whole thing seems so vague. Thanks for the response! :-)

Well I emailed the embassy and asked. Apparently since the children aren't coming with us they really don't want anything about them except their birth certificates. Actually they said since they have all his cleared police checks and things they said the only other "civil" documents they needed were his marriage certificate (from me), and his birth certificate. So whew! Looks like we don't have to send away for anymore documents. Hurray!
