Affidavit of Support Help

Hello,

I am feeling very anxious about the whole process. Everything seemed to be going fine in the process for an immigrant visa for my husband from Argentina. We live together in Argentina. Our relationship is genuine. But the problem is not us.

My sponsor is well above the poverty line and has the documentation to show it. But I have come to find out that they have a payment plan due to debt with the IRS. They have documentation to show that they are up to date and don't have any problems but still there exists that debt.

Will this be grounds for rejection from the NVC? I am very depressed. I don't know what to think and I don't believe I could find another sponsor.

I think it should be fine, but other people are telling me otherwise.

no, as long as they are paying no problem. Now, you are the sponsor as you are filing for your husband. the other person is your joint sponsor.

Yes. Thanks for the correction. I get confused with all the terms.

Thanks for the answer.

I know it may take a while to get replies for my question but I am desperate to see what other peoples ideas and experiences have been. The lawyer I hired says he thinks it will hurt my case but the cosponsors are on a payment plan and arent behind. Does it matter how much owe? If it is a lot?

If anyone has any idea or advice please let me know. Thank you!
