i got my tourist visa back in february 2011 (the visa expired in feb 2016), at that time the sponsor letter that im using is from my bf's dad's company

i went to the united states twice, in end of feb and aug for vacation

im supposed to go there again at the end of nov but the day before im supposed to fly out

i broke up with my bf, he's kinda out of control at that time so he ripped off us visa pages from my passport

i already report to the immigration office and on the process to make a new pasport

my question is about getting the us visa again

i know that i should do the whole process all over again, but right now i dont have the same sponsor letter (cause i dont work on his dad office anymore)

but i can get a new one, do they keep the data of the sponsor letter ? if i use a different new one will it affect their judgement, cause it looks suspicious

if i just show the us embassy that i actually have a us visa that still valid but the us visa is damaged

will they give me a new visa just like that ? people keep telling me that its really hard to get tourist visa to us, so im very worried right now

im from indonesia btw, thanks

You don't work at his dad's office any more, you broke up then you need a visa for what?

I would start out by calling the US Consulate in Malaysia and ask them what to do about a damaged visa. You may want to mention that you have had to replace your passport because of the damage.

I did find some information on lost or stolen visas which doesn't exactly apply to you but Here is the information. If you filed a police report after you ex damaged your passport then that might be useful.

It sounds like you did the right thing by moving on. Somebody who cannot control their anger is not a healthy person to be with.

The burden of proof for visit visas falls on the applicant alone. She was approved for one and the fact that she is no longer with her bf should have no bearing on the status of the visa.

Tourist visa's do not have sponsors.

The Jakarta embassy asks for employment letter usually for tourist visas.

Its probably not a sponsor letter. It's the employment letter showing ties to home country?

You will have to demonstrate ties to home country again when you apply for a new visa. Good luck.

What an a$$hole.....

i don't get it.

Agree about the a$$hole part. From what I read she may not need to reapply. I think it will be up to the CO's disgression if they will just reissue the old one or make her apply for a new one.

Good luck OP!
