There's so many on here and everywhere else that can barely afford the fee's as it is already! Sure everyone wants to get their love one's home to them as soon as they can. I think if the system wasn't so lazy things would be done a lot quicker for sure. The American government suck's you hear and read about it daily nothing going to change until we get rid of people we haven in the government and put real people in there that knows what going on out in the real world. Just my 2 cents!

Even though we are far from each other right now I know you are close to me in other ways, you are always here in my heart. You give me reason to look forward to each day,You are my life and a dream come true.there are no words to express how i feel for you.You are the light in my darkness. There could never be words strong enough to express my love for you but I'm going to show it to you everyday as long as i live.I love you with my body, soul and mind.I love you very much baby.Mwaaaaaaaaah!

Your Wife to be,

Aijeen

There is something like what you describe for Passports or so I have been told. My company has used it when needed. They try to identify who is needed for foreign travel far in advance and use standard processing for employees to get passports. But some times they find out to late. There is an expediting fee where every thing is sent over night mail. and for even faster there are companies who hand carry the application to a regional passport office.

I agree with Jim, more fees equal more staffing and faster.

In Arizona its hot hot hot.

Rather than see the long process as an annoyance, I choose to see it as a challenge, I was always taught I could have anything I wanted if I worked hard enough for it, and my fiance shares this value. I worked hard to save up enough, working 2 jobs at 14hrs per day to save up the money to visit him for his birthday in 2010, he worked hard to get the J1 visa to come live with me for the past year, and now we both are working hard at our jobs and the visa while we are apart. It's things like this that test and try relationships, but I also believe the same things that make my heart ache for him and the loneliness we both feel, the longing for each other, only serves to drive us to work harder, make our relationship stronger, and make us appreciate each other even more once we are together again for good.

Would I like to be with him faster? Yes yes yes and again yes, I miss him more and more every day that he's not here with me, that I can't hold him close, or laugh at a movie with him by my side. But I also see the value of the struggle, it shows both of us what we are made of, and what dedication we have for each other. We encourage each other every day, reminding each other that at the end of this long journey is the greatest reward of our lives. We become stronger as a couple every day because of this shared journey and I wouldn't trade that for anything.

Even though I would be tempted to pay $$$ to make it faster, I feel, imho, that cheapens it, we both like to rise to the challenge and prove to the world and each other that our love conquers all

I don't think this is a matter of money versus speed as much as an issue of patience.

We all know, from the very start of this process, it will take XX months to finish. This is the process and this is how it is going to work. Why all the complaining? Are some people so immature and impatient that that they "freak out" because they cannot live or will die if they cannot be with the one they love for another 30 days? Talk to me when you have been married for 10 years or so and your loved one wants to travel back to their home country for a month or so. Then it will be " only one month? Sure you don't want to stay a bit longer"?

Yes. I would pay for a expedited K-1VISA as well. They already have a employer expedited one for $1,500 plus other fees for employment! But to have my lady here in 1 month vs 5 or 9 months! Big time. I believe in the pursuit of life, liberty and pursuit of happiness. They are sort of putting my life on hold. I think if you are stable, no criminal record and don't have 20 divorces or something they should cut you some slack.

But I still find it demoralizing that how many American's have to do this to prove their love under a fine microscope. Could you imagine if people had to do what we choose to do for their loved one? The divorce rate might be cut 90%. All the paperwork, interviews, cost, separation, etc. Could you imagine if they had a mandatory marriage and family class, interpersonal relationships class, morals and ethics class, effects of divorce on children class, etc,etc before getting married? Wow!

I really think marriage should be reserved for those who ARE willing to do this very thing, I see so many American couples who can get married easily without having to go through what we all do, and get divorced so quickly, they don't even try to work things out. A lot won't even put forth the time to think, talk and consider the big step they are taking. Gay, straight? Whatever, doesn't matter, as long as they are willing to go through this process to be married, then they deserve it! It weeds out the dedicated from the rest :star:

Although I seriously doubt something like that would ever become a law, it would be nice. The ones who really want to be married to that person would be willing to prove it!

I'm not an American (YET), but here of my some curiosities:

Well I have been in the USA since the age of five, and I am one of those people who does his research to understand the issues so i can hopefully help people:

  • Already US Citizens can have their passport renewals expedited for a higher fee.---> Is that government handled it? I'm sorry, but in my country, if you can processing faster and paid more that regular fee, it is illegal and consider a bribe. So, I don't know about in US. I've never been there yet.

Go online and please read about this.. you can have faster passport service. It's called EXPEDITED for those prefer this service.

  • US Citizens can also can a premium for expedited US Government postal service if desired. (Overnight, 2 day, etc..)----> is it official tariffs or people can asked by request? I hate when sent my gifts to my fiance and it says would arrived in certain times but it did not.

Go to USPS.gov and research. One day delivery and Overnight are optional services for those prefer and can afford it.

  • US Citizens also pay for boarding express highway lanes during rush hours to move faster. (Hot-lanes in Virginia, Maryland) Different than HOV lanes --- Is it operated by government or company? I said, that there is a different between government and company how they operated their own system. Government best known for their bureaucracy. My fiance works for US government.

Go to VDOT and read about hot lanes.

  • Point being. America is driven by capitalism, and market economy. ---->I agreed with that. My fiance told me companies there are love to charge everything.

Correct. This is the USA. It's market driven..

  • Government understands this. If there is a demand for such a service, it mean government can charge accordingly to handle overhead costs and provide a quicker processing time for applicants they may do this in the future ---> I know it is economic teory, but again, if people can do that in future, whoever has a lot money, whether it is fraud applications or not, their application would going faster than others. What about someone who truly genuinely for this process or in love each other and doesn't have enough money? They would say different from yours, I bet.

You miss the point entirely. Are there fraud passports being mailed out? Are their fraudulent packages being delivered? Answer is No.

There are measures in place to detect fraud. The same procedures for normal wait time apply to expedited service. Only difference you have more people reviewing the expedited application so it can get through FASTER.

The reason you have to wait 5 months to get K1 approved is the volume of applications and available manpower. The vetting out process remains the same..

I love how impatient Americans are. And how they think. "I've got more money than him, so I shouldn't have to wait as long". That's the kind of thinking that's turning our country into a pit of despair. Get over yourself and wait in line like everyone else. Or better yet, move to their country, if you can afford to throw money around.

Sorry u feel that way. But if you live in the USA, get used to it. It's not being impatient. It's about having CHOICES in life. There's a reason why millions of people around the world want to leave their HOMELANDS and come here? Because USA is such an impatient and ruthless country? No, it's because you can come here with few hundred dollars in your pocket. Work hard and become something. It's called a democratic market economy where your value is determined by your level of work. Simple concept.

I have been living here since age of 5 and my parents came here without much. And through hard work, my parents are comfortably retired now. My finished my master's from ivy league, and have a very good job and because of hard work. So I know what I am talking about. So if I want to have choices in life to get something faster and pay for it, then, why do you have a problem w/ that?

I don't think you guys understand money.

Unless this is just a light-hearted, feely, wishy post.

Soon,... it would add corruption to the process.

And, then it would take longer and longer.

I suppose you'd like to pay your way through Security at the airport, as well.

AIN'T GONNA HAPPEN.

Might as well chill.

.

But that's just it. It isn't a choice. It isn't even an option. And it shouldn't be. If a person going into this process doesn't have the patience to wait for paperwork to go through, how are they going to have the patience to help a new immigrant adjust to life in this country? A new immigrant entering on a K1 visa can't work right away- there's more paperwork, more waiting. Even when they CAN get a job, there aren't many to go around. There are cultural differences that WILL crop up. All of that takes patience to deal with. If you can't even handle waiting for petition approval, marrying an immigrant may not be a good idea.

On another note, this capitalist point of view that "money can buy me anything" IS destroying this country. It's made our politicians and corporations more and more greedy and made the working class more and more needy. Shame on you for feeding into it.
