You guys - can someone point me to OR is there an outline on here that has a fee schedule on this site?

The initial filing fee is $340. Then at the interview we pay an additional fee of $350. And then the medical exam fee which varies for each country. And then finally the change of status fee once they're here. At each step there's a fee that we pay?

Thanks ahead of time. Still reading through all of the forum questions and the gov web site. Think I've a handle on it but wanted to ask just in case.

Yep, you got it all right.

Initial filing fee - 340$

Medical exam prior to interview - whatever they charge

K-1 interview fee - 350$

Adjustment of status form I-485 + biometrics fee - 1070$

(And if between your medical in foreign country and your filing for Adjustment of status a year has passed, you need another medical in the US/

also even if it's been less than a year some people pay a civil surgeon to get their vaccinations transcribed on a separate form for AOS, but I haven't looked too much into the Adjustment of Status process yet, so I might be wrong here.)

Good luck and welcome to VJ!

Yes! This is exactly what I was looking for. Will forward it to my partner. I think actually seeing it in this format might be easier to remember than me saying ok this is how much this will cost, that, so forth and so on. Thanks you guys. I was a little hesitant to post as I know the questions have all been asked before (so I've been reading and reading others postings) but I'm glad in this case I did.

Cheers

I'd also like to add:

Train tickets (or other cost of transport) to get you to embassy

Accommodation night before interview

Flight!

Moving costs

All the costs associated with actually getting married (even if you're only paying for a courthouse ceremony)

It is definitely an expensive process!

The AOS cost is tough - it was especially tough for us as my husband was laid off the day after we were married! I'd definitely recommend saving for it now!

Yeah you are up for $340 for petition to be sent off then the Aussie has to have medical approx $200+ Police report $150 or so was $420 for visa as we don't have an interview fee in OZ but that may be less and then when al that is done AOS $1070 . In OZ depending on where your fiance is situated yeah train costs and plane tickets and accommodation. As Sydney is where all the interviews take place.

Thankfully he's in Sydney so he won't have to travel far! So Barbara J did they/do they give you a schedule of fees owed since no interview fee? ie like you owe us $420 for the visa or is this something that we're supposed to all ready know?

Alex & Rachael - As soon as I saw the extra $1070 fee first thing I thought was that we should save now even more!

You guys are great. Thank you all so much! It defn does help with the nerves and anxiety just to connect with people who are going through it and have gone through it.

When you get the packet 3 it tells you he will have to go to the post office and pay for his visa . He will get an eftpos receipt which he needs to guard with his life and he takes that to the interview with him with whatever else they ask him to take. Usually passport 3kg platinum self addressed envelope and visa receipt. As he is in Sydney he will be good to go and he can rign the local police station Monday and organise his report and get it sent to his home address. I had all this done so when we were approved and I got the instructions I was all done and sent it in the same day. Saves a lot of time if he is organised. And yeah you will need to start saving now for AOS. Tell him to go to the website and print off the instructions and have a good read
