I have to file I-751 until 07/09/2012 to remove my condition on my green card.

I'm moving moving abroad beginning this December, and cannot come back until mid-July due to my school. (not earlier than 07/15/2012)

On 08/20/2012 I will have to go abroad again for another 5 months.

Looks like I have only one month window to do all the things to remove my condition.

Questions:

1) Can I reside abroad for more than six months, less than one year? (or Do I need to file I-131?)

2) When should I file my I-751? (Would that one month window be sufficient for biometrics and possibly interview?)

3) What happens if they invite me for an interview and I don't show up because I'm in abroad? or Do I need to start over although I filed for I-751 on time, and showed up for biometrics?

I appreciate all comments in advance.

You need to file a 131. More than 6 months out and CBP can choose at their discretion to remove your green card from you.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

Thank you so much. That's actually what I knew, and that's what I was told during my talk to an officer during the Info-Pass.

What I am confused is that I-131 instructions Page 2, Paragraph 4 states the following "If you stay outside the United States for less than 1 year, you are not required to apply for a Reentry Permit. You may reenter the United States on your Permanent Resident Card."

Any ideas why there is a conflict of information?

Because the government/USCIS dont need you to apply for one its not their requirement.

But they are not the ones who let you back into the USA after traveling. CBP and ICE are the ones who let you back into the USA after traveling and it is their discretion after 6 months weather you are abusing your green card or not.
