Hi all -

Ok, I was about to fill out N-400 myself on a basis of marriage to USC and read through all the questions before starting to answer. Everything that is clearly answered on my mind but this one question got me confused in regard to traveled outside of US last 6 months and how many days.

I never traveled outside of the country more than 6 months at a time. I took a couple of weeks trips twice but don't know the exact numbers of days. How can you be able to count those days? Is there any website for that purpose? Does it have to be accurate? Can anyone know up to how many days absent are OK to meet the requirement?

All replies appreciated.

Look at your passport. It should have entry stamps from your international travels.

Check your passport for entry and leave dates. Then use one of the many available day calculators on the web. For example: http://www.timeanddate.com/date/duration.html

One note: When using the day calculator above, subtract one day from the result since the USCIS counts the days you entered and left as days present in the US. For example, if the day calculator above returns 21 days as a result, count that as 20 days out of the US.

Thank you so much guys!

@ahn map - As you advised, I looked all my stamps on my passport. It helps!

@Jkelly07- Thank you so much for your suggestion. I certainly wish I could be able to keep track of all my past trips with my credit card.

@newcitizen - That website really helps me calculating the exact days from departure to return. One question remained, Do I still have to subtract one day if not checked box at the bottom of the page said Include end date in calculation (1 day is added)?

Yes, leave that box unchecked and subtract one day. If you check that box then you have to subtract two days.
