We sat on the Bridge for 1 hour and 10 minutes... there is construction and it is like that every day untl about 8 at night!!!

But after going into the office, everyone was nice and it was just a matter of waiting while they entered stuff in the computer. It was all nonthreatening, no trick questions... and then in 40 minutes we left!

I am here!! YAY

Once again thank you so much to you all ... this site is worth a thousand lawyers!!!

Welcome to the USA  !

I like that POE  . When I drive to Canada and back, I always go through Sarnia/Port Huron. Nice personnel and never give you any troubles (except Canadian officers  - I only entered Canada one time without being kept at the border and I always treated as a criminal  ) like Detroit. I might be too subjective, but the first bad experience while entering the USA from Canada with friend of mine left bad memories (when I was still GC holder). They kept us over 1 hour because of issue that his GC was re-issued (they've messed up with last name initially) and it triggered an attention from customs' officer.

Last time, in August, when I was coming back from Toronto, I spent around 10 minutes with patrol officer while talking about my wife's immigration, I was questioning him about the time frame for NOA2 (petition approval) etc. He was really professional, friendly.

So, I'm gonna drive to Toronto and then we'll take MegaBus to Montreal for my wife's interview. And if everything works out with the interview, she will be entering the USA through Port Huron.

Congratulations. I'm glad you had an easy POE once you got through the traffic. Welcome to the US :)

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

They WERE very nice there... they said the construction was going to last about 3 weeks, and that the only time the bridge is not busy is after 8 at night til about 7 in the morning, until the construction is finished.

Good luck with your interview and POE. It's like a dream after all this time!

Congrats to frostiana!

I wish I had read this a couple of weeks ago, to know about the delays. My kids and I went to visit my fiance in October and flew out of Detroit, crossing at Sarnia first. I had left what I thought was ample traveling time, but we sat on the bridge for 2 hours! Gah, I thought we were going to miss our flight. :( Everyone was nice though. Aside from the wait time, it was an easy crossing.

The K-1 Visa journey for myself and my two K-2 children:

K-1: NOA1 2011-8-10; NOA2 2012-1-12; Interview 2012-4-24; Visa issued 2012-9-17; POE (Sarnia) 2012-9-26; Wedding! 2012-10-02
AOS: NOA1 2012-11-20; Biometrics 2012-12-14; AP/EAD approved 2013-1-11; Interview 2013-1-31; 2-yr Green cards in hand 2013-2-9 (101 days total)

ROC: NOA1 11-7-14; Biometrics 12-1-14; 10-yr Green cards ordered 4-13-15! (157 days total)

Counting down to naturalization time!

Frostiana, congratulations on your successful P.O.E and also good luck with your AOS paperwork. Thank you for your attempt to help me as well, with my scheduling issues. I am very happy for you both and also excited because we are only about 6-7 weeks behind you in regards to P.O.E etc.

Best wishes to you both and have a wonderful and blessed Holiday !!!!!!!!!!! :D

Congratulations!
