Pat Buchanan Appears on Racist "Pro-White" Radio Show

During the media blitz for his new book, Pat Buchanan thought it was an ok idea to appear on a radio program called "The Political Cesspool." The charmingly named program describes itself as having:

a philosophy that is pro-White ... We wish to revive the White birthrate above replacement level fertility and beyond to grow the percentage of Whites in the world relative to other races.

That is completely abhorrent, obviously, and no respectable figure should ever want to touch that program with a 10-foot pole. But Buchanan, who has a storied history of making racist remarks, went on the show anyway.

The good news is that activists have pulled together a hearty campaign to get Buchanan fired from his pundit gig on MSNBC. ColorofChange.org and CREDO Action have led the charge, delivering some 275,000 petition signatures to MSNBC president Phil Griffin and NBC News president Steve Capus demanding Buchanan's firing.

As ColorofChange.org executive director Rashad Robinson said in a statement, “MSNBC's motto is 'lean forward,' but their silence in the face of Pat Buchanan's bigoted ideology is incredibly backwards. While Buchanan hasn't appeared on the network since our campaign started, MSNBC has to do more than hide him away and hope we will forget about his years of advancing extreme and dangerous opinions. If MSNBC wants to be seen as a trusted mainstream source of news and commentary, it needs to end its silence and fire Pat Buchanan.”

I'm against the leftist trend to have people fired for their views. I prefer the marketplace of ideas, not censorship. Besides, Pat is an open book, and if MSPMS didn't know what they got with him, they're dumber than I ever thought they are.
