trying to decide to go k-1 or k-3

I have been looking at processing times, and what I looked at seemed to indicate that the K-3 visa is moving as fast as the k-1

Im trying to decide whether to marry my fiance in the Philippines or to bring her here on a k-1

We would prefer a marriage over there... even if it took an extra month or two for her to get here.

Any thoughts from anyone on this????

Lately it does seem they've been taking pretty much the same ammount of time, so I guess your decision should be based on what it's best for you two. What kind of marriage you two want, whom you want to be there, who can come, etc. and decide if you want to get married in US or the Philipines. Decide that and you'll have also decided which route is best for you. ;)

At the time that we filed, the K1 was faster. We also knew that we could bear the time apart a lot easier before we were married than after. Once we were married, we didn't want to ever be separated, so that made our decision to go the K1 route an easy one.

Best wishes,

Jen

A great marriage is not when the "perfect couple" comes together.

It is when an imperfect couple learns to enjoy their differences.

I'm not sure you've seen this: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...mp;page=compare - you may find it helpful.

I only offer advice - not even legal. Just the plain and simple kind.

From what I understand, the K-3, when all is said and done, requires lesser fees and provides for easier AOS .....

7/21 - NOA1 issued

9/21 - finally ... my first touch!!

Sounds like both... perhaps we have uncovered the reason for the 'dumping'.

If that's the case... good luck with that new petition, OP.

a little bit of advise Jackpot, better not go for K Visa, don't think you'll get a waiver. you also might want to get divorced before marrying again.
