I feel the majority would replace banned with hung, drawn and quartered.

The UK has major issues, it will not end nicely.

My point is that if modern German law had been in effect then, Hitler would have been stopped in Germany and not by external involvement, treaties, armies, politics

Americans would find modern European laws repugnant as you can't actually gather outside a jew's home and scream hate at him and his kids

This worshiping of unrestricted 'free speech' is actually a hater's charter, and saying that it can be answered by everyone wearing a gun, is no way to have a quiet life either

The idea that politeness is engendered by being threatened by someone with a gun is not real world - its from a cowboy film.

I have the experience of living within 6 miles of 150,000 Muslims for 20 years - and I reckon you are right.

Do you reckon how this rather unknown guy from the homeland of the Terminator was able to become the most powerful man in Europe? You don't think it was because he was a great motivational speaker, like Anthony Robbins or Barack Obama, do you?

There is no room in this country for hyphenated Americanism. When I refer to hyphenated Americans, I do not refer to naturalized Americans. Some of the very best Americans I have ever known were naturalized Americans, Americans born abroad. But a hyphenated American is not an American at all . . . . The one absolutely certain way of bringing this nation to ruin, of preventing all possibility of its continuing to be a nation at all, would be to permit it to become a tangle of squabbling nationalities, an intricate knot of German-Americans, Irish-Americans, English-Americans, French-Americans, Scandinavian-Americans or Italian-Americans, each preserving its separate nationality, each at heart feeling more sympathy with Europeans of that nationality, than with the other citizens of the American Republic . . . . There is no such thing as a hyphenated American who is a good American. The only man who is a good American is the man who is an American and nothing else.

I think Hitler was a superb speaker. I have a couple of his speeches on mp3 as I am impressed by the power and construction of his speeches. Almost operatic. It doesn't make me a nazi the way - I just want to know how they do it.

Mr O is almost there with his word pictures but he hasn't got the force behind him.

Hitler took advantage of a country which did not have anti-hate speech laws and although he did some time in prison, it wasn't for that

The US will be forced to have anti hate speech laws like Europe when a significant minority are attacked - the civil rights laws were a mild movement down that road.

I just found out yesterday that when my grandad attacked the German front line at 3.45am on Thursday 3rd May 1917 at Oppy Wood, France, Hitler was 3 miles away to the south.

What could have been eh ? But it wouldn't have been a claim to fame as Hitler was just a soldier then. All very time-machine-ish

In case you had any question, we WERE part of Great Britain, remember? We soundly kicked their ####### on the field of battle TWICE by shooting neat little small holes in the heads of the King's men in order that we would NOT be like them.

You can read about it even.

Lots of monuments about that hereabouts. The cannons that blasted bigger holes in the King's ships are still on their mounts in battery park overlooking the lake. Knowing Vermonters, they are probably still in working order.

Freedom of speach was our first "right" claimed and keeping and bearing arms was the second. That was not a coincidence.

If Germans had the right to bear arms, Hitler and his bunch could have been overthrown and it would have been a few days of civil unrest in Germany. If you allow freedom of speech, you need to allow freedom to own guns.

That os why we can handle freedom so much better here.

I remember the Vietnamese shooting nice little holes in you guy's heads too - 50,000 dead and ten times that wounded mentally or physically - it works both ways you know.

..and when you had finished shooting holes in their heads, you moved on to

Abe Lincoln

Jack Kennedy

Bobby Kennedy

Martin Luther King

John Lennon

Gabby Giffords

etc etc etc ad infinitum

What you people have to realize is that more than 50% of the American population voted in a man that you think of as a socialist who is not keen on rampant gun ownership and parts of the US have stricter gun laws than the UK !

Do you realize what that means ?

It means you are in a shrinking minority and the violence and confederate flags that you worship and thirst for belongs to the past.

So put your tricorn hat on and play out at militias all you want, but this is 2011 and things have moved on and the modern world is coming in

One bright day in the middle of the night

two dead boys got up for a fight

back to back they faced each other

turned around and shot each other

If you do not believe this lie is true

ask the blind man, he saw it too!
