Hi everybody! I came to the US on K-1 visa and I'm trying to prepare for the interview in advance. I think that some of you had similar situation but I didn't really find any information or experience shared about it. The thing is that we are living with my husband's family. So we don't have any rent or lease payments together or utility bills. We do plan on buying our own house but it will take a while and I don't know if we will have it by the date of interview. We have a joint bank account and lots of pictures but I am worried about the fact we dont have any rent or bills together. will this affect the result of interview? What other proof of living together can you suggest? Has anybody had similar situation? We would greatly apprecite ur advice and experiences shared.

Have your in-laws write up a letter & notarize verifying that you both live with them.

1. Affidavits (hand writing letters) from your relatives are perfect to show you live in big family. IMHO, it is more persuasive if you leave with husband family (culture???)

2. Insurance (car, health...) is also a proof if you must know.

3. Sign new cell phone contract together. Another bill.

As far as your love is real, you don't have to worry anything about interview. Good luck.

Fiancee arrived December 22, 2010. Married December 30th 2010. Obtained a SSN and filed joint taxes for 2010; wife claimed she was a LPR for income taxes for all of 2010. That was the only piece of joint information we included when we filed in May of 2011. Interview was very easy and the IO looked at the original marriage certificate and kept the copy I had brought with me. There is not a lot of time to build a life together before AOS. I am wondering what we will use for ROC come 2013.

You give them what you have. In your case I would include mail or other evidence that the two of you live at the same address.

Good luck,

Dave
