Did they not give you a 221g to submit more documents?

It is your fiance's job to present enough evidence to prove that you will be supported. Sounds like he did not. If there is no 221g request then the best choice is to abandon that petition and start over. Do a better job on preparation.

Usualy for this type of situation they give you a card telling you what you need to provide. Provide it and they may just approve your visa. There is nothing wrong with the consulate, they are doing what they are required to do and the instructions clearly state what is needed. If you do not provide what they need, you will not be approved.

I think we have the same case, My fiance just started his job recently but its more than enough to support me. Now, based on what you said, I think I am in trouble too. Did your fiance meet the required amount for the 2010 income tax return which is around 18k? (not sure if this is the correct amount). If not maybe that is the reason why u got denied.

What evidence of the current, well-paying job did your fiance give you to submit? How much over the poverty line is he? Is it a permanent job?

Does your fiance have a job? Did you have a co-sponsor ready? Some people were persistent about co-sponsors, but the embassy considers it only if the petitioner is a college student or a fresh graduate.

May I know what type of follow-up documents they asked you for?

are u sure? Bcuz what we did was he asked his parents to be our co sponsor :( So there's no way we can get approved. That's sad

Is he a student? If he is, US Embassy Manila might consider having a co sponsor. You just have to provide them with proof of enrollment.

When did your fiance start his job? My fiance just found one this November, and the income is quite sufficient. It's his first job since he's still in college with a couple of semesters left to finish... meaning no ITR filed yet. I found out though, that US Embassy Manila accepts co sponsors if the petitioner is a college student.
