Medical can be done anytime after you receive your interview letter email from NVC. You can either choose to take the Medical report with you to interview or submit it at VFS.

VFS accepts documents between 10 - 15 business days (a small window of 5 days) of your interview date.

The documents required are a copy of interview letter, a copy of the boi-graphic pages of the beneficiary's passport, courier fee INR 387.00, and 2-3 passport photos.

Thank you so much for sharing the precious information, I was a bit confused, do i need to submit AOS?? My Husband has already submitted AOS in US and unfortunately I don't have any copy in India.

I dont think you need AOS if it has already been submitted...To be on safer side make sure you have copy of most recent federal income tax return + latest pay stub etc of your sponser.. sometime they ask for these documents..

My wife had all copies of all the paperwork we had submitted. You never know what you may or may not need. I suggest your husband send those copies to you before your interview.

From your timeline, I have a question, how did you receive interview date two months in advance?

I dont think you need AOS if it has already been submitted...To be on safer side make sure you have copy of most recent federal income tax return + latest pay stub etc of your sponser.. sometime they ask for these documents..

Hi,

I wanted to know if they allow you to carry your documents in hand bag or Backpack?? or you have to carry the documents in hand??? like when I went to visit VFS they didn't allowed me to carry my handbag inside.

No bags, briefcases allowed inside the consulate.Just take a big plastic carry bag to put everything into.

Hi Friends,

I have a question for our coming up interview in Mumbai. Since my wife is from Ahmedabad we could not submit the PCC with our application to NVC; rather we need to "bring" it to the interview. Ahmedabad passport office only issues PCC when you show the interview letter. We now have the interview letter and it says that we need to submit the PCC at the VFS office 10 days before the interview date. My question is: can we "bring" the PCC to the interview directly to Mumbai or do we HAVE to submit it to VFS office first? The reason i ask is that we need to get a police clearance first and then apply for a PCC. I am not sure how long Ahmedabad passport office will take to issue the PCC. At this point i am panicking thinking about "what if we don't get the PCC 10 days before for VFS". I may be panicking for no reason would feel better knowing that if i miss the +10 days for VFS i can still bring the PCC directly Mumbai...

Hi Ankit,

If possible please try to visit VFS once and share your problem with them, this is not a big issue,I am sure they will allow you to carry it to consulate as ultimately you need it only on the interview date.
