What are packets 3, 3.5 and 4?

Would someone be so kind as to briefly describe what packets 3, 3.5, and 4 are? Also, does every embassy require all 3 packets?

Packet 3 is basically a list of items you need to complete and bring to your interview at the embassy/consulate. Packet 4 is your interview date. You receive packet 4 after you have sent back the checklist of these items as being completed.Never heard of a packet 3.5. Remember not all embassies do the the same thing in the same way.
