"Dear Sir/Madam:

All documentation necessary to complete the National Visa Center's processing of your case has been received. As soon as an interview date has been scheduled, the applicant, petitioner and attorney (if applicable) will be notified.

The applicant should NOT make any travel arrangements, sell property, or give up employment until the US Embassy or Consulate General has issued a visa.

The US Embassy or Consulate General may require additional documentation at the time of the interview."

I received this e-mail October 13th, 2011, and was told my case was closed and would have to wait until November 2011 for an interview to be assigned. This was told to me last month by the NVC. The problem is that I called back today to check up on my interview date and low and behold I am told that they have yet to receive our DS-260. I told them it was submitted October 6th along with the legal documents they requested and a confirmation number was given to me back in October 13th for proof of completion of the DS-260. But all they could tell me was that the case would be reopened and would have to wait 10 to 15 business days for it to be reviewed. Can someone help me as to what just happened? They could not give me any answers all they could tell me was that the DS-260 was not submitted yet. This is really frustrating one minute the case is closed and now they are telling me it will go under review. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.

Oh my goodness, my head would explode if I were in this situation. I don't know what's going on in your case, and it sounds absolutely ridiculous and maddening. I just wanted to offer my sympathy for your frustration. Stay on top of them.

I understand your frustation - I have been there. Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do about this but to wait for them to review your case. We lost 20 days as NVC opened our closed case based on an email inquiry and no amount of pleading/ aurguing helped us. We were given option either to resubmit I-864 (which is already with them) or request for a review of our case (same 10 - 15 business days). Of course the supervisor advised that it was best to submit the I-864, so we chose to resubmit I-864, as it gets processed in 7 business days and there is some what a certainity.

Just be patient and let them review your case and follow up daily. All the best.
