Hey Kip tell them to go get someone up and clean the Cam.blink.gif

All I see on that cam is something like a giant mud puddle and a few shadows. I wonder if the wind pushed it out of whack or something. It should be facing either Front St. or the Ocean.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

Yeah it looks bad. Someone get up there and clean and set it right and the viewing enjoyment goes up.

My friend posted a video of them trying to get out on their snow machine last night. She said after about 30 seconds they turned around because they were already "lost". Crazies! I would never be able to live there.

Life is a ticket to the greatest show on earth.

Every year people (mainly Eskimo's) die from getting lost. Usually they lose their sense of direction and end up walking or riding (snow machines) out onto the ice pack in the ocean thinking they are on land. Next thing they know they are drifting out to sea on a giant piece of ice, usually never to be seen again. Today two Eskimo's near here died when they went through river ice on their snow machine.

A person gets snow blind quick, especially when the wind is cranked up and the next thing you know you have zero sense of direction and you can't see your hand in front of your face.

You can see Alaska from Russia

lol @ Sarah. But ya, there's a few places you can see Russia from up here. In fact you can ski to Russia on the pack ice during the winter if you hop island to island.

Population 280, and I'm betting anyone there who's over age 60 barely speaks English. They speak Yupik Eskimo there and a lot of those villagers need translators when they come into town for medical, dental, etc...

Not sure if they would have a bumper sticker...probably all 4 wheelers, snow machines, and maybe a few trucks if that.

We have population 2,000 here with no roads in and no roads out. The wife has been in the US for close to two years now and other than a 5 hour lay over in Chicago where she had to pick up her cat from customs via a cab ride, she has yet to see the Lower 48. Top that off with the fact she spends a lot of her time flying in single prop planes to these podunk villages...some without modern plumbing and she's ready to kill me. I promised her a trip to Seattle this summer, and if it doesn't happen I think I might be toast. :(

She works for the native hospital here (BIA) as a dental assistant. She fly's out for a week or two at a time sometimes sleeping on the floor of this "mini clinics" in her sleeping bag. Usually it's 12 - 16 hour days on these trips trying to get all the villagers in before they fly out. All this is on the US tax payers dime of course. The natives pay a big fat whopping ZERO for medical, dental, optical, etc...

You owe her big time. I'm sure she'll enjoy Pike Place and while you're there, take her over to Ivar's to get some clam chowder.
