Hi Everybody,

I came to US on a F-1 visa and I am still on the same visa, satisfying all the requirements..

I submitted for I-485 application along with I-765 (EAD) for adjusting my status after my marriage(to US Citizen)..

I was waiting for my EAD to arrive and instead I received my interview letter scheduled for next month in my local uscis office..

My problem is I am in the process for relocating to an ANOTHER STATE in the next 10 days..

and I was not expecting this interview before the relocation or arrival of EAD.

My question is whether it is a good idea to change the address at this stage, will transferring my file to new state will complicate the process..And will it affect my EAD processing??

currently myself and my wife live in different states and I am relocating to her state(she moved because of her job and I am following her). I got a job in the new city and my joining date is before the interview date.

Any help will be greatly appreciated..

Thanks

Danny

I can't really answer the question. But when I met the attoreny for my consultation he suggested us that not to move until all the process is done(you get your green card in mail.) The reasons why were(by the attorney) it could cause processing time longer and sometimes even though you sent them the change of address form it might not be updated in their system,so might end up getting all the important letters to your old address.

@PinkMelody: Thank you so much for the reply.. I set an Infopass appointment and spoke to an officer couple of days back.. And she told me that it should not be a problem, and asked me to inform the officer during the interview process that I moved recently.. and the card will be sent to the new address..

Also I have friends at my old address, who can forward the mails to my new address if important mails are being delivered to my old address..

So I am keeping my old address..

Thanks you once again..
