Long name in SSN

Friends,

I went to SS office to apply for new ssn, but they told me that they will cut 2 letters from my middle name

my name is like this:

first name (7 letters)

middile name, 2 names (17 letters + 1 space)

last name (5 letters)

Total letters (29 letters + 3 spaces) = 32 character

They will cut 2 letters from the middle name to be (15 letters + 1 space)

I tried with them to not to cut the letters, but no way

The ss officer advised to change the name on the green card before it issues, by making initial.

I'm not sure if it can be done or not. If not, what will be the problem due to this conflict between social security and green card?

The driving license will follow which one of them?

Anyone here were in the same position and got one way or another?

Thanks in advance

The dreaded Egyptian names- I too have this problem with my name :bonk: . It caused an issue when I had went for my drivers license because none of my names matches on any document (passport, citizenship certificate, social) lol. I had to add a name on my social and on my credit card I added initials but this was like 6 years ago. Im not sure if taking 2 letters out will cause a problem.

Hope someone else can give your more advice.
