Does anyone have information about how to get dual national citizenship for a baby born in the US to a Nicaraguan Citizen?

I dont think you can have dual citizenship as an adult, but can minors?

Thanks!

Apply for a passport seems to be the consensus from Google search. You can indeed have dual so can adults.

You just need to have all the required documents for getting the passport for the child that they require to get a NICA passport. However they say you have to pick up the forms from nearest embassy/consul. They don't seem to have them available online.

Keep both passports up to date US and NICA. Use the NICA one to enter Nicaragua and the US one to enter back to the USA.

You can register the baby at any Nicaraguan consulate. I think there's one in New York. Not sure if you speak Spanish but maybe your husband can take a look:

For babies born outside of Nicaragua, you will need to submit the following documents to the Nicaraguan consulate closest to you:

1. Birth certificate

2. Photo ID of the the Nicaraguan parent

3. Marriage certificate of the parents (if married)

There's a note in that website that says that if you do it within the year of the baby's birth, there will be no charges for the registration.

This is the info of the Nicaraguan consulates:

Great! Thank you! when I googled I could only find info for adults and most said Nica does't allow dual citizenship?

The closest to us is Houston, I'll give them a call too! Thanks for the info!

No problem. And your baby can perfectly have dual citizenship. Like Inky said above, you can use the Nica passport to enter Nicaragua and the US passport to enter the US. Good luck.
