Can InfoPass officers 'see' where a specific case is in the process? I say no they can't and maybe no one can. It just comes to the top of the pile. I have talked with USCIS many times asking if they can give us an update on our 485. Now almost 4 months and everyone else is being approved in 1-3 months. Transferred to CSC. Local is in MN. I have also been told that CSC doesn't post time frames for family based 485's, but the USCIS said they were processing cases from May 3rd now. I know they were looking at the MN processing times. Or so it seems. When I questioned as to whether these dates she was giving me was from CSC or MN and she just read them again. I asked her again and she said that if our case had not been processed within the 4 months it says it's taking, then we could file a service request to see what the heck is going on. Frustration is the word for today.

Yes they can.. though the place isn't really anything special (that they can tell you). They can tell you whether it's been looked at. Whether it's behind and why. They can see who last scanned it (though won't tell you). They put in the requests for updates, a tier 2 officer on the phone can just tell you what your file last did.

ISOs at national USCIS (A Tier 2 Human) can 'see' exactly what a VO at a local USCIS office can see, on the computer.

Perhaps you've not gotten an ISO yet?

For the majority of things that can be handled during an InfoPass appointment, an ISO, a Tier 2 Human, at national USCIS office can handle, instead, over the phone and in quasi-real time.

Good Luck !

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.
