I had my medical this morning. I thought I'd share some info regarding the new location of the office on 365 Bloor Street East.

I took the subway and got off at Sherbourne station. When you get out of the subway you go left on Bloor (towards the Tim Hortons). I arrived at 6:45 am and I attempt to push of the revolving door and it is locked. I'm thinking hmm this is weird I'm pretty sure the doors opened around 6am at the other office. I was lucky enough that a security guard was lurking around and came to the door. He said this is a SECURE building in which the doors don't officially open until 7:30am and for me to call Dr. Seiden's office to come let me in. Well of course they NEVER answer their phone and at this point I'm still confused how this makes any sense. lol Eventually the security guard was nice enough to just walk me in and I overheard him chit chat with the receptionist that their "buzzer" to buzz people in is still not working and for now someone from Dr.Seiden's office will have to keep going outside to let people in from 6:30am - 7:30am (annoying!.

Anywho there was already one girl in the waiting room when I got there. About 15 mins later a lady brought up about another 7 people so I was lucky with my arrival time.

I was called up within 10 minutes and a lady took my Packet 4 letter, passport, immunization recors and 275.00 cash. Of note: they do not keep the immunization records, you can give originals as they give them back to you when it's over.

A nurse took my blood pressure, heart rate, weight, height and blood test. The doctor came in and checked my immnunization records and asked me a series of questions and then the standards ear, nose, throat check. A lady nurse came in afterwards for a breast exam.

The X-ray was after which is actually around the street at a different office. It is on Sherbourne street. Very easy to find - they will give you a map. The Xray went real quick. I think I was done everything by 8:30am.

I had one issue with a certain medication I am on and the doctor wants a note from my family physician (who is 4 hours away from me in Windsor). ugh. more stress... my interview is on Nov 21.

Hope this is helpful to anyone with an upcoming medical!

Thanks for the info ! Have you taken your flue vaccine before the medicals (or during) as it says on their web-site?

My wife has medicals scheduled on November 23rd, but she's gonna be at the office tomorrow.

Another thing. Have you gotten any additional vaccination besides those in your immunization form? Are they really picky on that?

I got the flu shot ahead of time and had my doctor write it down on my immunization record that I got the flu shot. I think they would give it to you there for a fee if you had not gotten it already (I'm not sure about this). I had all the vaccinations as per their website. No additional vaccinations were required.

So, I just finished my medical...they don't do the flu shot at the medical. You either need to have gotten it before, or you need to get it from your doctor/walk-in clinic and fax them proof later.

They will not issue the medical until this proof has been given. I thought I could get the shot at the medical, but I guess not. So, I'll need to get it and send them proof...then I'll get my medical ?

Hi Rchi

I have to fax something in as well. I wasn't quite clear on when my results would be ready since I still need to send the fax. Did they explain this to you?

Thanks

The doc told me it would be the day after I fax the info. In my case, I had the medical today, will probably get the shot over the weekend, and fax on mon so he said it would be ready tues.

But, that's also because my interview isn't till the 28th. I think they could do same day maybe (morning fax, afternoon pick up) if it's super urgent. They asked my interview date and then had said not to worry, so whenever I get it to them is fine...
