Anybody who watches one of his employees or somebody similar ####-raping a 10-year boy in the shower and not ringing the alarm bell so loud that the entire school house wakes up deserves no less than being fired on the spot.

I like Joe Paterno. I am not even a football fan at all but I admire people tht are good at their craft and he certainly is. Maybe the best ever

It is a shame it ends this way but I think it needs to.

Had it been me I would have called the police immediately, period. Especially for Joe. He is a powerful, respected and NEEDED man and I sincerely doubt he would have been disciplined or fired for calling the cops. If he had, there would have been any number of other schools lining up for him. It fell on him to do the RIGHT thing and he did not

You cannot cover up abuse of children, that is all. You cannot do anything but the most effective method to stop and punish the animal that abuses children. I would not be calling the Dean or the Athletic Director.

It is too bad that in the end the best coach in football allowed himself to be ruined by a child predator.

I hope the children can recover and lead productive lives and enjoy families of their own, I really do.

Penn State has gone STUPID now.

Joe gets fired, but the guy who told him gets to stay? The guy who should have gone to the police, to the board, etc.. I mean cmon, talk about hypocrisy. They are sacrificing Joe though because of who he is.

They will pay for it dearly too. I guarantee you that he will get millions in a severence package as I'm not sure exactly what his contract states, but #1 there's no morals clause in it, and #2 it basically allowed him to coach until he wanted to stop coaching. Penn state might have made a PR move (that stunk) but they will pay in the end.

They should all go, and the ones that need to be should be prosecuted as criminals as accessories.

Anyone that had this information and did not do all they could to stop and prosecute this animal should be punished.

It really is a shame that all these people, the university board, or anyone else was so comprimised by this animal and I cannot understand why so many adults would do this and are they happy now?

If this McQuery had simply pulled out his cell phone and dialed 911 all these lives and careers would have been spared, if Paterno had called 911...if anyone had. I hate to say what I may have done if I caught the guy doing this, but I sure as hell would not have stopped yelling the alarm until the police came.

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. - November 14, 2011 (WPVI) -- The CEO of The Second Mile, the charity founded by Jerry Sandusky, the former Penn State defensive coach now charged in a child sex case, has resigned.

The board of directors of The Second Mile said in a news release on Monday that they accepted the resignation of Dr. Jack Raykovitz on Sunday.

Raykovitz has served as the CEO of The Second Mile for 28 years, the statement said.

No specific reason was given for Raykovitz's departure. The statement only said that "both Dr. Raykovitz and the Board believe this is in the best interests of the organization."

The statement went on to read "Although the allegations against Jerry Sandusky and the alleged incidents occurred outside Second Mile programs and events, this does not change the fact that the alleged sexual abuse involved Second Mile program children, nor does it lessen the terrible impact of sexual abuse on its victims."

The board also said The Second Mile will conduct an internal investigation into their internal policies, procedures and processes and will make recommendations for the organization's future. Those findings are expected by the end of December.

The vice-chairman of the organization, David Woodle, will now be in charge of day-to-day operations.

Sandusky is accused of molesting eight young boys over a 15-year period between 1994 and 2009.

Last week, Sandusky was arrested and arraigned on 40 criminal counts, then released on $100,000 bail.

Sandusky maintains his innocence.
