Why do you think you'll get an RFE? They are slow...

Just from what I've seen, it feels like I didn't send enough evidence. Only sent a couple bank statements instead of 31945715 years worth.. lol .. didn't send pics, or affidavits, that kind of thing. Also, I'm pretty sure the photocopy of my green card somehow got lost in the shuffle and didn't make it into the envelope, though I double checked (I was going through finals at the time so might not have been focused).

Oh well..

Hey everyone, just a quick question!

I'm finished and ready to send my documents. In early December we had ordered checks with our new address, but for some reason, there was a mistake in the printing, and as a result, I won't have our new checks until mid-January.

Can I pay using a check with our old address or will they see that as an issue? Our bank doesn't issue money order, would a cashier's check work?

My green card expires in mid-March, and I'm getting concerned about time. What do you think?

Past 7 months processing now... Getting pretty anxious and annoyed. I'm pretty sure I'm going to get an RFE, so I wish they'd just get on with it... :(

I have to move in 2 weeks also, and was really expecting to have this done by then, but now that's doubtful. I'm sure things will be lost in the mail.

lol Ashen, only you are as pessimistic and cynical as me when it comes to immigration :P Hopefully your green card will just mysteriously show up in the mail one of these days. But i hear ya..i barely sent enough evidence ( in my mind at least) as well i think le sigh. i only sent like 4 bank statements, and only the first page with each of our addresses listed..not the whole dang things. no affidavits, no pictures cuz we are lazy and never take any. no cards..cuz well no one sends anything to us or they forget to even put our names on em. since the day after i mailed it i'm sure i'm getting an RFE. oh well, worse case..we move back to Canada and rent this place out.

honestly, it costs alot to get new checks, i would just sent it in with the old address, i mean your sending in statements for that account with the right address too eh? i mean jeez..not many ppl even pay with checks anymore why waste money in my opinion.

I don't think they really care where the check comes from. A staffer will open your packet and pull the check out, then put it in a pile for review. The person who adjudicates your case wont ever see the check. I wouldn't worry!

Pssh.. you do recall the things that have happened to me along this journey right? No I-94 at POE, misplaced my medical, a year and a 1/2 of unemployment.. etc (though I don't think I've mentioned that last part). lol I could go on, but I'm keeping some of the issues personal. But I'm just ready to move on with my life, and this is holding me back. That's all I'll say about that. hah

Well its not just you Ashen, they are so behind that i think they are issuing RFE's to just about everyone. I mean I've seen some of the posts in the ROC forum, people who sent in tons of really good evidence are getting and RFE for stuff they already submitted. In fact its like they went RFE crazy. Something needs to be done but i have no idea what or how.

I hope you can get whatever the RFE asks for so you can move on with your life - I saw your post in the ROC filers thread about you moving too. Hopefully you can get everything that the adjudicator wants and get on with your life here in the U.S.

I am curious like Kimbear to hear what the RFE asked for. You mentioned not sending affidavits - I know I sent three just because I was afraid not to given the fact that our housing wasn't in both our names and in fact is in my maiden name because we can't refinance the house yet.

Good luck with your move.

Hi - I received my receipt notice on Friday; it was dated 01-07-13. One step closer!

I do have a question though; I tried to log my receipt notice # on the USCIS website to get updates, and it kept telling me that the # didn't work. Is this normal, do it take a little bit for it to be recognize on their site?

the number on the noa wont work. you have to wait for the bio notice then use that one.

Thank you Kimbear! And here it was, right there at the bottom of the notice, black on white! :bonk:

urgh.

sending off our roc today, super close since his gc expires 2-8-2013. my wallet was stolen out of my car two weeks ago and i was hoping to get my replacement license in the mail in time to include it but no such luck. considering all our credit card info is in limbo (waiting on replacement cards) and we can't file our 2012 taxes till the end of the month, our package is going to be light no matter what. i guess i'll just prepare for an rfe.

i'm sure the general consensus on vj is that roc feels like proving what we've already proved (some of us twice). seems silly to have to present so much evidence at this stage when it's possible for divorced or separated couples to file just the same. i dunno. i'm tired of giving the government money. done rant

I know I want to give the government just one more collection of money for my DH's citizenship. Now that ROC is over it just motivates me more to save that money and get ready to ship off naturalization paperwork asap. good luck with your ROC. Hopefully it will move quickly.
