Congrats !! still waiting...

'

You're still waiting for you NOA1, but you'll probably get approved before me since you're at the CSC!

Looks like VSC does batch letters, since I can't imagine people are working on a Sunday at 9:45 at night, it is the government.

So I have a couple trips planned here soon. One to San Diego for work in the middle of July and one to Canada in August. I just know that my Biometrics appointment will be scheduled for when I'm gone.

12/31/2009 - Marriage

07/21/2010 - AOS approved

08/04/2010 - Green Card received (and it's actually green!)

05/30/2012 - Sent ROC packet to VSC

06/08/2012 - Received NOA1 for ROC (Dated 06/04/2012)

I'm considering a trip to the great white north in august as well. Haven't been to BC since I left Aug 2010. Started working, then had to pass probabation period before any vacation could be had, then i switched to a better gig and same there...sooooo finally can do vacations this year and have Canada in my sights for a hello with the famiglia. Bio letters typically follow the first NOA and are withing a few weeks.....I got the ASC biometrics notice (June 28th) but not the first NOA !! :bonk:

It's probably going to be in July for you I would guess or even late June. you said you got your NOA already right?

That's a little weird zenaxe. The NOA normally comes before your Bio letter. If you don't have it soon I would call the mis-information line to see if it was ever sent.

Thanks, yes it is odd and a few of us had the same thing on the May filers blog....I will call them tomorrow or the next day if I dont' get it. Occassionally there has been a neighbor that puts mail in our door as they accidently receieved something but I do want it in my hands and want to ensure it was sent out.

So....been a little while since travelling the halls of this place. I'm waiting...and waiting...and waiting to here back from VSC. Hooo boy!! Slow!! Sent in my packet in November, and haven't heard as much as a whisper! The "proof" is minimal, as there are lots of things we just don't have, *but I explained in a cover letter* We didn't have taxes at the time...Tim being on disability, he doesn't file, and I just filed my first this year, *after sending in the packet* no insurance policies, that is until recently as I started a full time job at the hospital, and they cover life insurance for me, and I named him beneficary....so I suppose if we end up with a RFE, I have some further things...The waiting is annoying though. I suppose I won't really panic until about Sept. or Oct...then I'll have to check out my next move, in case I don't hear anything.

Congratulations to all those that have been approved!! Sure hope my turn is coming. At this point, I'd even welcome an interview!

yo peeps.

I filed in March.

I've been scarce around this place too, but travelling soon to Canada (first time since 2010 Nov)

Had the NOA and biometrics already. Do I bring that NOA letter with me?

I don't expect to get a new GC issued to me before my trip. So therefore I will have my current CAN passport, an expired permanent residence card, and a letter stating "Your conditional resident status is extended for a period of one year."

I hope. Obviously it's the getting back into the US that's the trick. I'm not too worried but wondering if anyone else has traveled back to the US only with an expired GC and an NOA letter?

Regardless, I need me some cottage country. Bad.

I drive across to Canada every 2 weeks to take my mom to chemo and have never had an issue getting back into the US with my expired permanent resident card and my extension letter. I have been asked a few question about it but nothing I couldn't answer. Once CBP officer asked why I filed my paperwork late, some silly questions I tell ya.

Removal of Conditions: 12/09/2011

ROC check cashed 12/15/11

NOA1 12/13/11

Biometrics 1/6/12 Complete

RFE 9/13/12

RFE package sent back 10/17/12

Card Production Ordered 12/04/12

10 year card arrived in mail 12/10/12

hey why did you file late

that's as good as people coming in to the USA for the first time, being asked by border dudes if it's a good idea to come to the USA without already having a job.... ahh well I need a green card so i can be authorized to work in the USA.....so it's legal duuuuuuuh ...I wasn't asked that but am aware of this :bonk:

That's a little weird zenaxe. The NOA normally comes before your Bio letter. If you don't have it soon I would call the mis-information line to see if it was ever sent.

So I call and I get a guy who wasn't overally helpful, asked the same questions over and over and over ie WAC number, etc...wac number,,,,,wac,,,,yes its that number !!! ####### already. then after 35 mins he bumps it up to the next level .....50 minutes on the phone waiting....just dead time waiting. then a guy says looks like it was noticed June 1st and thought it was odd that i would get NOA for ASC instead of NOA1....the bio letter was notice date June 7 and i got it june 9th....soooo why didn't i get the jun 1st notice of action? he wants me to call back on Friday if still nothing !!!! argghghgh so another 1.5 call on friday....it never takes two weeks to get a piece of mail if it was sent....probably misdirected. he said he can see i was extended to May 2013...he gives me another WAC and says i can't access that on line....i tried and he's right...he says it's related to the first NOA.....how? anyway, so i'm back to the same, waiting.....i guess i am extended to next may , just don't have any proof of it yet. the 50 minute wait peeved me off big time. :wow:

50 minutes?! That's insane! They obviously need more people answering the phone, yeesh. But at least you have some idea what's going on. Hopefully you don't have to waste another hour of your time on Friday.

Your NOA1 and the Bio appointment letter have two different case numbers. I believe the number on your Bio letter is the one you can use to access your case status online. The other one won't work.

I traveled to Canada with my expired card and NOA in February with no issues. It was no different than my past visits with an unexpired card.

Hi, so I guess he gave me the WAC number for the NOA1. I'm fine with traveling with the expired card as long as I have the NOA1 showing extension or the I 551 stamp. I have to wonder why he would say wait another four days....if the notice date was June 1st, it should be here. Unless they think it could take 16 days to arrive despite the notice sent June 7th arrived June 9th. But i'll be a good boy and call back on friday, unless I do receive it. I can't help but think there possibly it was misdirected mail but I have no way of knowing. It should be a signature needed thing given the significance of these notices. :reading:
