Hi Vjers,

My sister is a DV 2012 winner. She had her interview in Ghana today and was given a blue slip to come back December 2. I sent her lots of documents: I-134, letter from employer, bank statement, tax transcripts etc. She said they did not look at any of those documents so I am a bit worried. They only took her birth certificate, police clearance and medicals exam. What does BLUE slip mean?

Thanks for your response.

I did not make her read everything on the slip because of time but she said something along the lines of "Return December 2, 2011, do no make any travel plans since the process may take a little longer."

What did it say (exactly, completely) on the blue slip?

It sounds as if they are requesting Sister to comeback and pick-up Visa on that day...

That is what i also think but why December 2. From what I read on the forum, it take a week or two for Ghanaians to be issued visa after successful interview.

Thanks

Did they keep the passport? Yes. they kept passport, school certificate, birth certificate, police report and medical exams.

Diod they ask her any odd questions? No. They asked her name, education qualification, date of birth, marital status, whether she had any children. That is all!

We really need to know what exactly it says on the blue slip to advice....: Its late in Ghana now (11:35pm) but I can call her tomorrow. From what I have read. I think is a "Visa Collection" slip. Is that a 100% guarantee she will get the visa on Dec. 2?

I know for sure is a slip for the collection of visa. The visa collection slip issued is always in blue color

I just called my sister this morning and she said its a visa collection slip with her name, date of collection with DV (circled) since that is her visa category. She also said she was strongly advised not to make travel plans since the process may take longer than expected. Thank you all for your comments.
