My wife will be arriving from Karachi, Pakistan to US. Could her Point of Entry be Raleigh, NC. I know most of the foreigners (including myself) enter NYC, LA and other big metropolis. Raleigh has a international airport btw so they do have immigration and customs dept. I'd appreciate your help!

Just check the flights...POE is the FIRST US airport where she lands, so if JFK is the first, then it is POE. I kinda doubt there is a direct flight to Raleigh, so its chance of being POE is small. Might be a connection in London to Raleigh or some other European airport, but once you check available flights you will know the answer

yes. here are the POEs in north carolina:

North Carolina

•Airports

Charlotte Douglas International Airport

Raleigh-Durham International Airport

Wilmington International Airport\

do check though if airlines coming from India/karachi do land to any of these. otherwise, choose the nearest POE for your preferred airline =)

It could be Atlanta or New York or New Jersey depending on the airline you choose for North Carolina - I chose Houston as I have family there before coming to Charlotte, NC. Just check which international airport POE is smooth and choose an airline accordingly.

If Raleigh is the most convenient place for you, and it appears they have an immigration office there, why not? Just remember that the FIRST stop on US soil is the POE. If you can make arrangements to land there, as the first stop, even if it means making connections overseas, then do so. Just make sure she has any necessary visas if landing in a foreign country and must exit that airport.

There are direct flights from:

Heathrow

Manchester

Frankfurt

into RDU.

Suggest you study a bit, yes? Take a look at Flight PK721 - make sure it hits RDU prior to it's last leg of JFK coming in from Manchester.
