Hey I'm new here and I have a really difficult situation. I work as a flight attendant for an airline and I came down to visit my friend in Santo Domingo, DR. While I was there I met my fiance, She is living in the DR but she is haitian. She has a good job in DR(call center) but she entered the DR on a student visa and it has expired. I want to start the paperwork for the K-1 visa but I am not sure where should she apply from haiti or DR. ANy help is apprieciated.

Hello we have a similiar situation. My fiance is Haitian and was living and working in the DR. However because he was in the DR without papers, we have to file everything in Haiti. I wish you the best of luck.

You need to apply for Haiti because she is a citizen of Haiti

My huby lived and studied in DR for years! After he finished his studies that's when we started this process he left DR still having his visa after getting a police certificate from DR and now in Haiti waiting the interview next month. So I know what you guys are going through I'm doing it now it'll be ok

So let me ask you this. All of my documentation from my travels show that I travel to Santo Domingo but not Haiti, how much does that compilcate the process?

All of my documentation (airlines, hotel, etc) is from Santo Domingo. In my letter regarding our relationship, I never mentioned that he lived in the DR. I just said that due to the conditions (earthquake) in Haiti and the US travel warning. We decided to meet in the DR. I am hoping this works. I think is should they do have a travel warning on their website.

It wont complicate anything that was were the person was living at the time. Nothing to worry about.

This is a very good advice it sure won't complicate anything they don't ask for you to meet them at their country just meet them period. My hubby while he lived in DR that's where I would spend every vacation every holiday every chance I got. :)

Oh wow congrats!!! (better late than never) That means NOA2 is coming next this is good sign.

Well but now i am in a hurry my wife is pregnant and i want to come quickly. I am losing hope sedning supporting documents for the expedite request my wife made. I do not really know if they are going to approve us. No one here in VJ,despite of several post, i made were able to help me out with what do i need to send to California service as convincing documentation based on financial loss.

My hubby had his Medical done this morning he got there around 730 at the docs and it was Dr. Betau i think he's name is and he said there were A LOT of people there too. He was number 18 and everything went smoothly it took a couple hours but after that everything is ok. He only paid $295 he said that's all they charged him and he was told to come for the results on the 30th of this month so next week. We are getting closer and closer to interview date i won't be able to make it but God will be there for me. I pray all is having a good day and a smooth journey. good.gif

Hello everyone

Couple of things. I know everyone must be getting ready for the Thanksgiving Holiday. Any Haiti filers traveling to Haiti to see their loved ones? What are you plans?

That and I have been getting a lot of question about the Visa process. Some I've been able to help others could use info from other Haiti filers. Here are some of the questions I recieved:
