that's exactly what i told him because to just bring it with him and don't say nothing to them and if they ask for the original then for him to say it's in the packet they have because wow going to DR right now would be probable if our interview was in januarary cause We would have to pay a visa fee for DR and two weeks of hotel fee and food and Bus going and coming that;s a good $1000 around CHRISTMAS time that I don't have lol lol but I will keep praying for them to accept the DR one because they have the PAP one. WE NEED YOU GUYS PRAYERS helpsmilie.gifgood.gif

omg dear im so sorry to hear that I still dont understand why they requested a police report from you in the first place i would ask around about that if you send me your email i would send you my interview letter and show you what it says it states the required document is unobtainable for this country per the foreign affairs maual however my husband is get recived one any ways also i have a attorney on are case he says the same thing i really hope this dose not cause a problem for you my gosh.

Ok NVC is so stupid! Ahhhhh! They lost my husbands police certificate from DR and told me they can't go back in the case to look at it because its already packed up and ready to go to Haiti. Now all we have is the Copy of it and for my huby to go back to DR and get another one its to much wasted money when I know its in our packet! They told me in the checklist that they receive it now they're saying they didn't. WOW so question is.HOW MANY OF YOU GUYS THINK THEY WON'T GIVE HIM THE VISA IF HE ONLY HAS A COPY OF THE POLICE REPORT AND THE ORIGINAL IS IN THE PACKET? I'm going crazy! Lol

Wow ok I know it's costly but an original would be your best bet. Telling them it's in the file may not go so well. Reason....when you go to the interview the first clerk asks for any missing documents....now she/he may flip papers and look but if it is not in the packet because they lost it when you give the copy they may still ask for an original.

The copy may cause your case to go into AP because they will have to check out the police report information if they haven't done so prior to your interview. This what I think happened with our petition. I sent in an original divorce decree along with a copy when i filed the I-129 petition. They requested another original and copy for the interview. So of course I brought another origianal and copy with me to the interview along with the DS-157. I did ask the clerk if she saw another original she shuffled the papers around and I could clearly see through the glass it was not there. Then she asked if I had an original and a copy and I submitted the 2nd divorce decree.

So did NVC tell you they lost it or they are unable to locate it? How is that suppose to make you feel. I swear these people have no clue how stressfull they make our lives.

I truly hope they accept your copy and the visa is approved at the time of the interview. Trust I will be praying for you and yours.

Ok if I understand your post correctly NVC stated it's ok to bring just the copy to the interview....right? If this is the case then you should be ok but if they said copy or original that is different because remember at the interview all originals documents are returned to you and they keep the copies once the originals have been verified.

Now when you get packet 4 it is accompanied by a checklist and if something is missing/lost they tell you to bring the missing documents to the interview. The checklist is very specific when asking for copies or originals and some cases they ask for both so they can return originals to you. I would call NVC again and be certain of what they want from your husband . Leave nothing to chance girl. Get it right the first time around for a successful interview.
