I would think it is a good idea to bring your newborn with you. But, at the same time, it would be hassle. I would hire a babysitter to take care of your newborn.

good luck!!

To quotes a movie, “So how does it happen, great love? Nobody knows... but what I can tell you is that it happens in the blink of an eye. One Moment you're enjoying your life, and the next you're wondering how you ever lived without them.” I felt I found something with Kieu that is rare in life... true love.

You will be sitting and waiting for perhaps hours. And then having a very important interview. Not the best set of circumstances for a newborn.

Not to mention it is crowded, hot, and humid. For a new born, you want to keep him/her from public places as mush as possible.

His.her immune system is not as good as an adult and you certainly don't want him/her catching anything bad.

If your wife is calm and collective AND the relationship is legit, you shouldn't need a baby present to pass the interview.

If the REPORT A BIRTH ABROAD has been approved and you have received all the approvals and issued a passport for the baby, then I would say no, don't take the baby.

I would however take the approved paperwork and passport for the child just in-case. Or if it is a major concern, you can sit outside with the baby, and if you and the baby are needed, your wife can say the baby is outside.

If the consulate let's you attend the interview (not sure about IR-1 / CR-1), then let a relative watch the baby outside (across the treet in the coffee shop (it's got A/C).

GOOD LUCK

Be carefull. the CO may require that the baby show a bonafide relationship with the parents, provide a criminal background check, and fill out a 10 year residency timeline.

Would recommend keeping all old diapers for proof, organized by date, and labeled with tabbed divider pages secured with ACCO fasteners.
