Why do you hate liberals and liberalism so much?

Personal experience. You guys on these forums. Left wing politicians on TV. NYT... Liberal Actors and their intelligent comments.. Madonna for fucks sake

well when someone wants to say republicans or republican types all hate gay people, I can't just sit there. And then to try to say Jesus would support it...bahhh.

I have a cousin in law that is gay. had dinner at his and his SO's place before we left EC back in July... awesome food, fun crowd. His makeup was almost as good as my wife's at wedding (he had to make sure he didnt outshine the bride.. bad joojoo there)

Jesus hung out with the "bad ppl" all the time. even his 12 were complete jackups "whose first.. is it me..??" hahahaha... no wonder he was irritated most of the time

I totally agree. I have a long time friend who is a lesbian and she brings her girlfriend to church meetings even sometimes. They know how we all feel but they don't feel hated by us or they wouldn't come at all. Even they think what they are doing is against the bible but they don't want to stop. They are honest about how they feel and know we will be honest with them too. But there is 0% hate among us. She is like a cousin almost to me and my sis.

But I still wouldn't say Jesus would condone that lifestyle or anything that is contrary to the Bible. Loving someone and condoning are 2 different things.

No problem, I don't recall you ever being rude towards me personally. I may feel insulted at times when what I believe (politically or spiritually) is ridiculed, but who doesn't?

I understand that and in fact when I bring up religion in the context of politics it is because I feel others are trying to push their version of Christianity on me. I also understand that personal convictions shape our political views, but historically the Fundamental Christians are blatant about it - at least there have been many leaders who have been vocal politically and not shy about making their political arguments religious.

It is not hate but more an irritation. There seems to be a certain smugness that just is irritating. I think that is why the hate George Bush so much. He has the same type of smugness. Again, I am not part of either party and think both parties should be open to attack on their policies. But it seems like the attacks are on politicians using the wrong words instead of having misguided policies.

here is a great example of a liberal hypocracy,and you wonder why the rest of the world hates us!

Marc, do you honestly think the Republican politician are not hypocritical? That's the pot calling the kettle black. I don't mind political criticsism towards the Democratic Party or liberalism as long it's not coming from the attitude that the Republican Party or Conservatism is free from flaws. The reality is most of us, if not all aren't ideologically polarized to either conservative or liberal. We can argue on the issues per basis, but to point the finger at one ideology as if it's inherently flawed is fruitless. As it's said many times before, this country's foundation is built on liberal ideals as well as conservative. To say that one is the only way to go is incredibly naive.

of course I believe both parties have there flaws, but the liberals in the U.S. have done so much damage to our country (see Rangels comments) it gives other countries the impression we are divided. you dont have to like what the president does but to constantly BASH him is so damaging to our country.when it comes to the security of our country they all should be working together!

Whenever I have come across someone from another country who has a story about a having a bad experience involving an American overseas, 10 out of 10 times the rude obnoxious American is someone living in a blue state...The main offenders are NY and Californians..

This liberal I know everything and am the best attitude is obviously carried overseas. I remember being in europe on a contiki tour and hearing a guy who didn't like something say "I am an American and I deserve bla bla bla" to the tour operator because he didn't get his way.. I later spoke to the guy and surprise surprise he was a NY who hated George W.. aka a liberal..

Lets not even take the liberal produced hollywood films into consideration which are influencing and causing the rest of the world to hate Americans even more..

C'mon those generaliztions don't apply. Being rude or obnoxious is not a quality that is unique to any political party or country. Some people are just azzholes. When I lived in California, I met some very conservative folks. To classify a whole state as liberal or conservative is preposterous, IMO. This thread has shown that no one even agrees on what "liberal" means. In recent history, Maryland has always been a staunchly "liberal" state but we elected a Republican governor in the last election. Maryland has many rude and obnoxious people too, as do many other countries in the world.

If ace13 is a devout catholic, then I can tell you this is what he believes:

* That the theory of evolution is accepted.

* That the story of Adam and Eve is metaphorical and not meant to be taken literally.

* That the Vatican opposes the war in Iraq - has called it immoral (JPII)

* That homosexuality in of itself is not immoral - gay people don't choose to be gay.

Are those liberal views? I don't know. But as erekose keeps pointing out - the label of liberal isn't being used accurately by people like incanada.

No one is saying one has to always agree. There is a fine line between disagreeing and simply hating the other person based on their beliefs..

Personally I believe when it comes to national security there is limited room for arguments and a country has to have unity. Otherwise, the larger the gap created between the left and right the easier it will be for the terrorists to use that gap to get in and carry out their attacks.. As Guliani stated the bad guys are the terrorists. Terrorists who may already be living in the US..
