Hi Guys..First of all congrats to those who have progressed in the process...

We filed back in May and so far only have our NOA-1. We had a RFE (copies of his birth certificate and US paperowrk which were in our package ugg) which was returned and recieved Sept 28..And was notified at that time our case was transfered to Vermont. Online it says within 60 days..

Im just getting so sad people after us are booking interviews we dont even have noa-2 yet..finding this really hard as we wnat to get married now as we want to start trying for a baby..every day with no progress is lessening our chnaces..

Thoughts? Advice?

Thanks

I'm sorry it's taking extra long for you guys to get your NOA2... Try calling USCIS? That would be my only suggestion.

December 2009 -- Visit to Malaysia.

February 2010 -- Applied for B2 visa, approved.

March 2010 -- Visited US.

April 2010 -- Returned from US.

May 2010 -- Sent in K1 Visa application.

July 2010 -- Received NOA2 in 71 days from NOA1.

July 2010 -- Packet 3 received.

August 2010 -- Cancellation of K1 Visa application.

I'm so sorry but its Hurry up and wait - it is extremely frustrating overall and Montreal is very frustrating in particular. You don't want to get married now or that would nullify your K1 application and you'd have to start from scratch.

Just because your RFE was received at Montreal on Sept 28th doesn't mean it didn't sit in the mailroom for a week or 2 or on someone's desk for another week - I know you're frustrated but it hasn't been 60 days since your RFE was received and you just have to be patient.

It will make you feel worse if you compare yourself to someone who filed at the same time - the RFE has delayed it so that it's essentially like someone who filed in Sept.

PS - I am one of those people who probably cried everyday for about 2 months while I waited for an inetrview date...drove me nuts

We waited 202 days before our NOA2 arrived. We also got an RFE that delayed our NOA2 for a month. I would suggest you get the US petitioner to give VSC a call as soon as those 60 days are up. They will hopefully put a note on your case to expedite the processing.

It sounds like your RFE is relatively routine so they shouldn't be taking so long to get to it. I know how frustrating the wait is. The only consolation I can offer is that things do move a lot faster once you get that NOA2 and that there is no reason why you shouldn't get it. It's only a matter of them just looking at your petition and processing it.

I want to join in advising you against just getting married while you wait for your NOA2 on the K1. Getting married would require you cancel the K1 that you've already waited over 200 days for and re-filing for a CR-1 which will add even more time to your wait. At this point, it's faster and probably easier for you guys to just let the NOA2 show up. Hang in there!

Hang in there, you're SO close.

I always tried to remind myself that in the grand scheme of things, a few more months didn't make a big difference. There's nothing that you can do but wait though.

Try to make the most of being in Canada and with family/friends. I spent a lot of time missing my fiance, when in reality, now it's the opposite and I miss Canada :)

I would call if it's after the 60 days. That's what my fiance did and put in a service request. A few days later he received a response to the request saying we were approved!!
